not everyone agrees to looting items from ur enemies corpse (in pvp), and not everyone likes NOT looting something from your enemies corpse. Now to many rulesets (servers) will spread the community of pvpers across servers, and leaving atleast one of the servers to be underpopulated then the others. < That of course could be false since the game isnt out yet.
Looters can loot Looters - Looters cannot loot Loot-frees - Loot-frees cannot loot Looters (1 item and money) --------------------------------------- From character creation you choose wheather or not you want to enable looting (this option cannot be changed afterwards - and if the Game Developers choose that it can, the quest should be difficult, and make sense...like the binding or unbinding of your wares?), this means if you die you cannot be looted, on the same token, if you kill someone, even if they have enabled looting, you cannot loot them because you chose to be "loot-free".The good thing about this is that even if you enable looting, the Game Developers can still set a requirement level - when the looting become possible for those who enabled it, lets say at level 6. Level 6s who enabled looting, can loot others who have also enabled it. It would probally be best that ur choice be hidden < not sure who would dislike or like that, but it wouldnt matter to me. Something of the like could/should be implemented so that you can grab not only the majority of the community who like pvp, but even the "minorities". The one item could be from the inventory, or a piece of armor the person was wearing, i dont think looting their weapon/shield (they had equipped) should be allowed - that could really cripple a player. The money could be all the money they have on them, or just 1/2 half the money they have on them, not including money in their bank.

Took me a while to little to understand because of use of looter so much, but you mean like in Everquest 1 when you turn on PvP right? If so then yea that sounds good cause i know PvP is gay especially because of griefers.

i think you should be able to loot no matter what but nothing they have equipt like say they have a potion in their inventory or some sort of token you get for killing him if your at war and PvP isnt gay

I meant grief PvP, my mistake i should have said Greif PvP instead of just PvP. Greifing is just plain gay is what i meant.

I like the PvP loot in DAoC, when you kill someone you get a small amount of money, but it doesn't come out of thier inventory. I'm sure everyone knows how it works on account of DAoC's popularity. But as far as looting a another players inventory goes i think that is rediculous. What if a high level kills a lower one who losses everything because someone decided to be an ass? maybe if there is a high enough level difference then no looting occurs, even then its sooo depressing to die and loose everything in your inventory, or even a portion. i think a reward should be given for killing someone, but no penelty for being killed. this is acually my 1st post on this site and ive played a lot of games, but dont know much about AoC, just been looking at what i could find and it looks fun so i thought ide drop in and try to learn something :)

I think that the devs are not thinking of what the main idea for MMOs was. A MMO is supposed to be a virtual world with endless possibilities. The devs somehow translated that into a game with lots of rules and no freedom. Although Ultima Online is outdated, it offered freedom. I wish they would make a game that was more realisitic, say full open pvp with full looting including everything equipped, not just the inventory. If you kill someone in a virtual world, why can't you take everything they have as well? That I will never understand. The carebear gamers are really screwing the rest of us.

Dieing in PvP is so common that someone being able to loot your dead body of all items would destroy the game. For that to acually work then items would been to be worthless and bought cheap off a vendor. People would quit the game on a daily basis because they just lost thier best item. If you really think about it you would realize that its a horrible idea, and any game is better off without it. Yes it may be more realistic, but in reality you die once so you dont need to worry about what you are carrying, in a game you ressurect and now ur screwed cuz you just lost the gear you worked for however long to get.

You should be able to loot everything I mean EVERYTHING. What a society of cowards we live in these days, boo hoo I lost my stuff im gonna tell my mommy and shes gonna make your mommy make you give it back waaa waaa waaa. The only game that ever had any meaning in pvp was uo in its heyday, then of course the whiners cried until they got insurance. now, thx to ea games and starting with the aos patch all the vets left including myself. And enough with trying to make epic battles and bar brawls, only even number battles, everyone is the same level, I can loot him but she cant loot me, you can only fight in certain areas,spare me all that crap PLEASE. Look if your in a guild you declare war on as many guilds as you like, in aint rocket science or brain surgery, its common sense damn it. If 60 guys come up and wack me out, tell me im pwned, do the wave over my corpse, tell me to try crafting that maybe pvp isnt my thing, cut my body up and rearrange the pieces so my head comes outta my butt, well thats pretty damn funny. So PLEASE for 4 years now ive been looking for a replacement game dont make me wait any longer. |

Are you a fairy? you are are'nt you? because only a fairy would cry about losing his epic weapon and quit the game. Yes the idea is to have regular old weapons that you make or buy from a vendor, that's called a reality based game. if your weapon and armor are 98% of who your char is, what does that say about you?

maybe instead of ripping on people because of thier opinion and how they feel a game should be maybe you should do what this forum is for and state your opinion on the matter. If you feel you should be able to loot items then say it... if you agree with me then agree... but dont come to a forum where some one simply stated thier opinion and rip on them, thats childish.

I'm against full looting. I have put enough casulties of puberty in prison over the years in real life to not want to deal with them in a virtual world.

As a difference in opinion - if I was lvl10 and a lvl40 kept killing me - let's just say everytime I spwned for a duration of half an hour, I would class this as griefing. FFA PvP only works if there is a respect system and everyone wants to PVP. This isn't the case and this has to be covered by allowing those that don't want to (full) pvp to still play. As for the looting argument, I read something about bloodmoney and this allows to buy PVP only equipment - I think this is the best route. You get rewarded for PVP and the equipment you buy i | |||
