Hey guys. I'm downloading the trial right now. I'd like to make a mastermind for my first try, using robots. Any particular secondary power sets I should look at/avoid to complement this?

While I'm asking, if I screw up my selection of powers somehow, is there a way to pay for a respec of some kind in game, and is there a limit on how often/how many times I can do that if it does exist?

Thanks :)

Well let's go through them all:

Bots details:
* Prefer Ranged
* Tier 2 pets buff each other and you with Force Fields.
* Tier 2 pets heal other bots.
* Set includes Repair, which heals to full (and gives end) to one bot on a 2 minute recharge timer.

Traps
This is what I have with my Bots. You can use some of these trap summons (specifically seeker drones) to take the alpha strike and let your pets stay ranged. Also, the FF Generator stacks with the pets' bubbles. I also think it's the easiest conceptually, though that can vary.

Force Field
Bubbles stack even better than traps. Repulsion can force range. PFF allows you to take alpha, with bots in "bodyguard mode".

Dark
The most popular MM secondary in any combo. AOE heal for all your pets. Resist aura works well with ranged (and therefore nearby) pets. Gives Dark Servant for minimal alpha-strike taking.

Trick Arrow
Great opener in Oil slick, which bots can ignite. Wide area of debuffs, but none have any particular stacking with bots. This set is good for longer fights, with tools to speed up your killing and provide long-term mitigation. It's ok in that bots tend to be rather resiliant already anyway.

Poison
Very good single-target debuffs, a cone -recharge/slow, and a great AOE debuff/hold effect in Noxious gas, and a single-target hold. However, it's more of a teaming set because it has a rez, a single-target heal, ally mez protection... I'd likely pair it with less resiliant pets, like ninja or thugs.

So I'd probably recomend in that order, but you can see the reasoning for any one that catches your fancy.

The enemy is so dumb! They believe that WE are the enemy! - A famous orc commander.

I would always recommend /dark cause you can then play and relax.

Force Field for example...it is a constant hassle if you want to buff your pets.
