First off, let me say I love EQ2 and I think the game is a lot of fun.  That said, I have been having an ongoing graphics issue and I havent been able to get much help from Tech support to resolve it.

My character, literally loses his head.  Other PC's lose limbs or their heads and when I zone all is back to normal until it randomly happpens again.  For me, this is a game-breaking issue and I wish the tech support team would be more helpful on issues such as this.  I have tried older drivers, various different settings configurations and to no avail.  I have deleted and re-installed, same old same old.

I have no issues in any other game, and it saddens me to think I cant play EQ2 as I really enjoy it.  Hopefully, EQ2 tech support will spend more time trying to help people through issues before they lose more people to them.

Because they probably don't know whats causing it. Don't blame them for not knowing how to fix such a very weird issue.

It sounds like a graphics card or ram issue to me, especially since it doesn't happen ALL the time, only after you've been playing a while. There's a glitch somewhere and it has NOTHING to do with SOE.

This is the first time, in all the years playing this game, that I've ever heard of such a weird problem.

You may not have issues with other games but that really doesn't mean anything. Just because they may be techs doesn't mean they've heard of every weird issue on the planet that can happen with technology.

What graphics card are you using and how much ram? Is it Vista? If its Vista, keep in mind that Vista is still pretty much an unknown element and weird crap keeps happening with that very VERY bad OS. Also keep in mind that Nvidia 8800 card are having issues (due to Vista), Among other problems that keep popping up, and you'll have to fix the problems yourself because even Microsoft doesn't know whats causing all the issues yet.

Thanks for the replies. I have been through that entire thread and I didnt find the issue.  I also understand that tech support is not aware of every issue, my original gripe was there was no effort on their part to help resolve it but its a moot point now.

Searching 'missing head' on the tech support forums returned a ton of posts with people having the same issue, even as far back as 2006, so I'm surprised that tech didnt know there was an issue but whatever.  Apparently, the issue is with AMD dual cores, setting the affinity to single core while EQ2 is running is the fix, and after playing for several hours with no issues at all, seems my problem has been solved.  Thanks again for the replies.
