Action... a true mix between MMORPG and FPS... now lets finally talk about PvP...

I wonder why TCoS is not as hyped as AoC or WAR? For me TCoS is a total winner. The other MMOs have nothing except famous backstorys and even more famous characters. |

Yea some games need hype good games more often speak for themselves. Also I think as development continues there will be a bit more buz behind TCoS. With every diary and vid released more interest seems to be gathered. |

It's not necessarily that good or bad games are over or under hyped. I really think the company just goes "oh. . our game sucks. start the over-hyping drive!" or if they have a good game, they just sit there and laugh at everyone else. |

Lets say they keep the hype level at it's current seeitng - hibernation. Do you think the game will make much impact? It's the best kept secret in the MMO world right now and if they're launching up against AoC and Warhammer then they they had better figure out who is doing the marketing and wake them up. A few game play vids don't generate mass interest unless it's on the back of a wider campaign. But I'm sure they have a strategy figured out, it just most companies would have started the ball rolling by now. They are under the radar and that's not a good place to be if they are launching in 6-9 months. |

However, from the looks of it It is unlikely that they want to peak interest in the game now, because who is to say they will really launch this year? They hope so, but cannot name a date yet. But if they want to launch in 6-9 months they really need to start advertising the game, which is not the same thing as hyping it, but that's maybe just semantics. But are they up against AoC and WAR? If AoC releases on May 20th, I don't think they are up against AoC at all. The games are vastly different and the curious crowd is already willing to try something new again by the time TCoS releases. That leaves WAR and maybe WoW's new expansion. That is hefty competition, agreed. But for some reason I don't worry so much about those two games negatively impacting interest in Spellborn. We will see. |

WAR and Litch King will have an affect but I think there's a hard core following Spellborn who wont be swayed. and that is money in the bank. It could always be a sleeper hit like Eve which is going from strength to strength based of a solid core game and good fan reactions. |
