I love children, I just never can finish a whole one.

I have been watching both of these games, and a lot of questions that I have had about TCoS are answered with Darkfall.  It may look like Darkfall has my vote simply because there is more depth from their skill system, even though it is PvP focused.

I don't like the fact that TCoS has classes (albeit cool sounding classes!).  Darkfall is the kind of game where you can invent your own "class" so to speak.

Another thing I like about Darkfall is that they are very far along in the production process, and haven't announced a release date that they have to push back again and again.

TCoS sounds like an awesome game, and if it comes out before Darkfall, I'll definitely be checking it out.

A lot of people have been comparing Darkfall to Age of Conan, but I think TCoS and Darkfall will be in closest competition.  Any thoughts?

This is a joke thread..isnt it??

No disrespect but you saying that "darkfall is very far along in the production and havent announced a release date that has to be pushed back" has to be some sort of a joke.

Anyway if(and I did say if) darkfall is released this year or next year it will be sometime after TCoS so then people will know what this game is about and can make up there own minds,For me personally I havent seen 1 thing to make me believe darkfall is going anywhere fast,I gave up waiting on it about 2 years ago but you never know...

The 1 thing I do agree with you is that both TCoS and Darkfall have quite a few nice and new ideas, which makes them stand out.

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

lol....mmorpg needs a new forum category on the left.... Released Games, Games in Development, and Games to be released after the Second Coming of Christ.  They can then put TCOS and Darkfall in that last grouping.

So yea, major similarities between the two games.

Darkfall is a practical joke made by some kids in another country to create another game...a real one.  Its called the forum fan game.

Right now, I think you just killed a raid boss.  Be sure to send links of your epic lewt for us.  I've been grinding for my "People who actually believe this is real" title for some time now...to no avail.  Alas, it seems I am not l33t enough for this game.  Far too much time investment for me.

How come you say that? Spellborn is going to be released in Q1in Europe while it may be later in America it is most certainly not Vaporware.

Some kind of loose association... I remember winning a closed beta invite to this game over a year ago, and tcos kept pushing the date back ... "we will start in one month" then "it will definately be next month" etc. Took around 5 months to finally happen. And it was set to be released that spring (2007).

I guess it was the month to month push of the CB that stuck in my mind. Not as crazy as DF of course (year to year push for a decade?)... was just joking around; why so serious? who cares?

Ultimately I'd like to play a classless game, where you make your own class with the skills you pick but, even so, I'm very much looking foreward to TCoS.  I'm really interested in trying out the skill deck system they will use and seeing how differently one class will play with different deck setups.

TCoS is the game i'm looking most foreward to of any mmo atm.

Darkfall is currently in a developmental sweet spot.  You can promise the sun, the moon, and all the stars in the sky, as long as you never have to deliver it.  With its patented release date of "6 days after the zombie apocolypse" they're quite safe.

Guess what....

Last month i played TCoS for 3 hours at a testingsession...

Can't say more about that because of NDA.

Darkfall has never ever showed up at any gametradeshow.... Spellborn has showed up on some and will even be on this months game developers convention. Darkfall could be vaporware, spellborn is certainly not....

Gamers who use RMT are like athletes who use steroids.

Darkfall might be a good game but until it has a release date there is no point in comparisons.

TCoS is the best MMO to "soon be relesed", so that is what i will be playing. But if the heaven fall down and dogs and cats begin to hang out and Darkfall is released.....thats the MMO i really want to play.

And i wouldent call this "DF vs TCoS"....but i like that both developers are european and are trying something new.

TCOSB is like a fantasy version of City of Heroes when it comes to character customization. Not that fun to me, I like items.
