Originally posted by daarcoThis is a good point about the graphics. The first thing I thought was there was a cultural feel to the graphics. The Dutch have a long history of a unique approach to their art with innovative ideas that go back to the artist Jan Van Eyck. We certainly see the cultural style with asian mmos. This extends to Europe as well with their own take on graphics. It maybe a bit more subtle then Asian graphics but there is a difference for American eyes. I think we saw this in Saga of Ryzom as well. I for one really like the look of TCoS. Although the world has gotten smaller with the internet and we get exposed to different style easier. We can not dismiss the difference in how we look at art. I like Asin mmos mainly for the graphic more then the game play. Mostly because I feel like I am really playing a game from a different culture. That difference in TCoS is smaller but it is there. With the Dutch rockband Within Temptation providing some of the music we should have a great game and a bit of a cultural experience as well. |

I wear a tin-foil sailor hat- so I can look stylish AND the government can''t read my mind... |
I had doubts but this now looks very pleasing, the characters don't look like the giant meat-bag idiot male builds of WoW. The game looks like it may be a bi hard to learn though. Anyone in beta to comment? |

Originally posted by coffee Couldn't disagree more about AoC. It looks like it will be a HUGE hit, and highly populated. There are already many guilds, and a large crowd of people waiting for it. That game will be a huge hit. As for WAR, it will not be huge, but it will be a pretty big game, at least during the first year. Then leaves this game.. This game still can become a big game, even if a lot of people are playing AoC or WAR. Everyone who wil not play them will probably be waiting for this. ~mike470~ |
