"Well, facts again, hope they don't get deleted like before:" (not to worry, they are quoted below)

One thing that is important to understand is that neither Mythic, nor GOA, is responsible for the distribution. Distribution of WAR is handled by EA. Using it as an example is fine (heck, I did it myself), but issues cannot be blamed on either Mythic or GOA.

"You can buy the USA CE from internet easily. Try to do it for the EU CE, outside UK."

As mentioned in my post: Amazon.com and the EA store, both had major issues. Canada residents got a solution only after a month or so. Not sure how the situation in Australia is going currently, but it was a mess in the beginning also. What about South America? Mentioning only the US is like mentioning the UK as the only country serviced here in Europe. And again, EA is responsible for distribution.

Yet personally I ordered my CE two days after the announcement, and that is in the Netherlands. Bol.com, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr and a slew of Scandinavian Internet shops offered the option to order the CE online (and still do if not already sold out) from the start. But yeah, there were a few countries (mostly eastern european countires) where it was more difficult in the beginning.

You can buy the USA CE in several shops. Try to do it in Europe, besides UK.

I agree. Besides the UK there is this only a Greek, some Scandinavian and a Middle East retailer offering pre-orders in their shop. Blame EA and especially the European retailers for this. But again you need to compare with more than just the US. How easy is it get a hold on a pre-order in a retail store in for example Canada, Australia, South American countries, etc.

For months, the EU website simply did not work.

For months, you couldn't send the directX diag file, it gave an error.

For months, it was impossible to know if your beta apply had reached them. No confirmation message, no nothing.

For the above three: Agree that there have been issues with their website for people. But it must also be mentioned that a lot of people did not have these issues (myself included). And yes, as it has been said before in this thread, their website is not the best in the world.

It's still impossible to know if you have applied to beta.

Ever bothered to take a look in your profile? It may not stated in bold and all capitals that you are signed up for beta, but everyone with at least half a brain will be able to tell you that they are signed up.

GOA and Mythic!

Cheers!

- Distribution is a non issue in regards to GOA, as it is the responsibility of EA. But again you implicated that everything here in Europe goes wrong, while it does not for North America and all the areas reliant on North America. Simply not true.

- The website everyone will agree upon, it is not the best in the world. But they did solve all the major issues. Would be nice if they would build a website not entirely depended on Flash though. But again, the US website did also have its issues in the beginning (and remember the issues they had with the website update some months ago?).

Now to get back to your initial statement in post #4, which is the reason why I responded to this thread:

"Yes, everything regarding WAR in Europe is very badly run by GOA."

And your statement in post #19:

"I'm not lying, anything related to WAR is difficult in europe and very easy in the states."

I still do not agree with those two statements.

Ok, everything in regarding WAR in Europe is very badly run by GOA, Mythic and EA.

Happy??

edit: Point taken.

One of the most retarded things that happened to me when trying to apply for the closed beta on GOA's site was that every time i put my postcode in, it would reject it saying "invalid zip code".

Europeans do not use zip codes

Honesty is the best policy, but insanity is a better defense.

We do use postal codes however, so it's all the same. Or at least the two countries I have lived in in my life did.

On the topic: Personally I just cannot see why EA does not just buys out Mythic's contract from GOA to stop this bad publicity.

Yeah they are, however the flyer and EU site say to register the code with them. So if they are not accepting open Beta codes at this time they should say so. And on top of that the EU site is a broken heap of shit...

Yes, everything regarding WAR in Europe is very badly run by GOA. There was a thread about GOA but the moderator deleted it, and I think others too. Probably this one will be deleted too.

I knew you opinions are biased for unknown reason ..or you are just idiot but at least hold a facts and stop lying. Yes, GOA isn't perfect and in the past it was pretty horrible with DAoC but now GOA is more mature. They are handling this beta very well.. very profesional and without any problems. In fact, it's the best beta I ever tested..

I'm not lying, anything related to WAR is difficult in europe and very easy in the states. Unless you are the idiot you have to realize this fact.

Ah ok. I don't have any difficulties. I think you must have IQ under 80 to have some problems with EU WAR beta..

No idea what this is all about, very easy for me so far with no problems buying and recieving my early-access codes from play.com. Only 1 person in my guild/friends has had a problem and they are spread all over Europe. The person in question lives in Turkey, but other Turks i know have had no problems. The instructions are very clear, the website is not accepting early access codes yet, they clearly said to me I would be informed when I could activate them.

So far, so good.

GOA are doing fine so far, if you hate them so much, play US, you won't be missed :)

Re-read my post, i stated that when signing up for closed beta it rejected my postcode saying "invalid zip code". The format of a postcode and zip code are different and European countries do not use a zip code so why would a European company make such a mistake with their beta site?

The only "problem" I had with GOA is when they released the WAR CE. At the day of the release, the GOA site listed 5-6(can't remember how many) online stores here in Sweden. After checking out each and other of these stores(calling some of them on the phone), it was clear that none of them, except one(Spelbutiken), was going to sell the CE. So I goggled around and found Gameshop.se(which wasn't even on the GOA list at the time) and ordered the CE from them. I mailed them and asked if the CE was sold out later that day, and they replied that they were surprised they haven't sold more pre-orders.

One day later the GOA site updated with the correct stores (gameshop was included this time in the list). Why they listed the other stores to begin with I cant understand... didn't they know in which stores the CE was to be sold in?

The rest I have heard of GOA is all word-by-mouth and it doesn't sound to good. But I won't judge them until I had a first time experience with them. I hope they live up to what Ian says in the link earlier in the thread ^^^ . I hope its true, for the sake of us players, so we doesn't get our "WAR-o-Fun" time ruined. Then its "WAR-o-Riot" time.

The Second Day Vet

I have to admit with the lack of information the very poorly designed and usable website, bad support and contact details.. I am already thinking of canceling my Pre-Order CEB and giving up on WAR as a bad idea.
