I'm back to WOW after that horrible AOC experience. I'm enjoying myself again, was wondering, do you think WAR will be release before Wotlk ? |

My guess would be yes. But since neither WAR nor WotLK have been given official release dates, it's just a guess. |

I imagine they'll be released around the same time. I will be playing Warhammer & I won't be buying WoTLK because I canceled my WoW account over a year ago out of boredom and frustration. WoW failed with PvP for me. It wasn't fun. The battlegrounds were a joke and arenas even worse. I can say one thing about Mythic they know how to make PvP FUN! :) |

Before bored WoW fans get their new toy, WAR needs to strike and captivate them. If they launch after WotlK, I can pretty much guarantee that initial box sales will drop by a large amount. And yes, I know a lot of you say, "I do not WANT WoW players in MY game." Well, EA does, as subscriptions mean money. Oh, and more money means we get more updates and more content and more attention. That, and I think the elitist stereotype that WoW players are somehow inferior is a load of bullcrap, but that is a whole 'nother thread. |

I would imagine they'd want to release before WOTLK, to have the maximum amount of bored people from WOW, and people that left WOW, trying WAR.
Another bet would be releasing about three months after WOTLK and get the people bored already of WOTLK. |

hehe...WoW player here. I am -so- glad they won't be having forums. That means less hardcore whing and less hardcore trolls. Divide and conquer. Nice thinking Mythic I will be canceling my WoW account and never looking back.

I will be really disappointed if this game doesn't release in October..with WotlK release date rumoured to be around November...it simply would not be good for anyone on the WAR side to release after WotlK. Even if it's just a week before release, they need to get out there before the next WoW expansion. The wait 3 months after WotlK sounds good in writing, but delaying the game til Feb-Mar 2009 would drive me up the freakin wall. |

WAR will be out just a bit before WOTLK. Blizzard has only just announced that they are looking at WOTLK beta. This means that if WAR has a Vanguard/AOC style release, WOTLK will be right behind them to deliver a killing blow. |

He said "if" and honestly he is right. WAR is likely at the most going to launch 1-2 months ahead of WotlK, more realistic time frame would be a few weeks (mid October vs. early November, all speculation of course). IF WAR has a launch ala AoC and Vanguard then the game is screwed.
Now saying that, from what I know and what I have played in Beta...the chances of that happening? Laughable to say the least, I'm expecting a launch ala LOTRO in terms of bugs or serious issues (aka very few and far between) |

WAR will be out 2 months at least before WotLK. Blizzard just opened beta opt in which means we got 6 months before they start beta. Even if they rush it, which they almost never do, you are looking at December as the closest probable launch. With WAR going to release at the begining of fall(Sept/Oct) this gives them 2 monts. Now if Blizzard does rush it then I really fear for WoW's slow demise but it would be GOOD for WAR. Blizzard is ridiculously slow for the size of the company in developing things so I really doubt they will make 2008. They need at least 3 months of beta testing to make the e | |
