From what i've been seeing the game seems like a copy of tabula rasa as far as the game play goes and like to know if this is true and i hope it's not |

Nope had it with all but gnomes still like them :) anyways if it plays like TR its not going to be any good just look how TR is not saying TR is bad but in the long run that type of game play fails |

Lol agreed i mean how could it be a "copy" of TR i mean it has been out not very long, also im not saying it is a bad game, i liked it, but it was rushed and all, wouldnt CME copy a succesful game, also MMOs take years to make 4 plus, its much harder than a normal game(non mmo) so it couldnt possibly be a clone.
Plus the main reason game like TR or FoC dont survive is because the general population today are generally idiots, and cant play a more difficult game like FoC or EVE but go for WoW, i mean wow isnt a bad game but it isnt a great game, the music isnt the great, the gameplay is a grind and the story of the warcraft series is lost in the leveling rush, the grind and the GHAY!
SGW may be a great game but may not survive, i hate to admit it but the world isnt fair and people are idiots lol. |

I may not have said it right what i mean by copy is the game is going to end up the same as tr in the long run not the devs looking at it and saying lets copy it anyways i'm just sick of all the cheap easy skilless games that keep coming out thinking they can get high subs like wow did TR is just one more game that needs no skill and all you do is grind if they had made it a true fps i don't think it had been as bad as it is (note i'm not saying make sgw a fps but it be nice ) As a fan of star gate for over 9 years i just hate to see this mmo being one more of the games that is just a skilless grind and no more to it like wow. So far still waiting for someone to tell me if the game play is going to play just like TR or not :) |

Well, I've been playing TR for a long while now and I've spent some time scraping together what little more or less "confirmed" information is out about SG, and yes, there are similarities. Space opera, check. Both deal with space, both deal with current/high tech weapons. FPS feeling, check. Both boast a "more immersive" gameplay where you control your character not unlike in a FPS. But aside of that, I see a few very important differences. First of all, from what I've seen in various videos so far, taking cover does play a key role in SG. While cover does affect you slightly in TR, it is near insignificant whether you hide behind something or just charge head on to your enemy. Second, the "focus bar" of SG, something I haven't seen in any MMORPG so far. The more you get shot at, the more you "panic" and the less efficient you become. Really nice idea, unparalleled anywhere as far as I know. Also, let's not forget two completely playable sides that makes PvP story-wise meaningful instead of the boxing ring / battleground style PvP you can hope for in TR. So I guess we may expect more from SG than from TR, simply due to some new ideas that seem to take the focus away from your equipment and "what you have" and put more focus on your style and "how you play", when it comes to success or failure. |
