I got a bullet with your email address on it. Don''t make me hit send. |
Here is a thought. Who wants to play a game that was rushed into release and made into a piece of crap because some people didn't want to wait another year? And creation since 06? seriously man c'mon 2 years isnt even enough time to even think about launching a game. That's the problem with most MMOs today is the fact that they were released way to early. |

I feel your pain. Aion looks like its going to be a good game but I also get the feeling they won't release it this year. Unfortunately every MMORPG these days seems to take a gazillion years to make. Even blizzard is slow. But it can't be helped we cannot make the games ourselves so we just have to wait. |

The internet is serious business. |
If anything games are rushed to be finished to soon..2 yrs is nothing really. I too hope Aion doesn't get pushed back anymore, but if its gonna be a choice between getting an unfinished product and a polished game a choose the latter. |

You're worrying too much. The 'summer 2008' release date, which is for the Korean version and not US/EU version, was a rough estimate made 2 years ago, they only missed their target date by 4-6 months which is pretty damn good compared to other companies.
Trying to get 100% of the bugs out of a massive game like this would take too long in a CBT, a 4th or 5th CBT would be over-kill.
If another company makes a similar game, then I feel sorry for that company (Unless it's Square-Enix or Konami).
Doesn't matter if people lose interest or play a different game. Eventually they will get bored and try it out, just like the 10 million that are playing WoW.
I believe Aion deserve a little patience, the dead-tired Aion Dev team will be greatful.

$oE , destroying MMO since 1999. |
I kinda wrote that but you snapped at me lol. I think it's been too long in development. Something must have gone wrong, they're years of their target date, I don't know what money is funding this game but they can't keep developing a game without a release. There's a time when they have to release it or they will cancel it because they will run out of funds like this and people will loose interest when another game comes along. |

From all the things I''ve lost I miss my mind the most. |
It will be just in time. They will release this year in Korea and NA/EU will start beta by october/november. |

Its going to be timed perfectly the people who will play Aion are not the same people that may play WAR
WAR will come out people will have a few month to see if they like it and then Aion will hit and with Lineage 3 not scheduled until 2010 theres plenty of time to establish a foothold.
Even with Stargate Worlds etc around the corner Aion is going to be in such a niche area it isnt a wow clone and it aint sci-fi so it will continue to get subscriber's.
I persoanlly am going to try WAR I may get into it I may not I will go to Aion upon launch I will take a look at SGW and perhaps subscribe to both Stargate and Aion as im a Stargate geek.
The only thing I could see draggin me away from Aion will be if the secret Bioware MMORPG is KOTOR online or if Star Wars Galaxies suddenly implemented classic servers although theres more chance of hell freezing over. |

Let's get some facts stright aye? a) The game was never going to be released during 2006. Someone posts in a forum that Amazon is selling the game that will release on 2006 christmas and people take it as an official source, 2 years later, nobody remembers how they heard about it, but everyone heard about it. I say this over and over, back then the game was only graphics and an engine, you can't make a game out of that, but nowadays, the game has already its shape, and its progressive testing makes it longer to test but better for the customer. b) If you test WAR and you enjoy it, stay there until you test Aion, and if you enjoy it more, switch. As easy as that. I'm personaly more attracted to Aion cause its features show more potential to me and I must say I'm having a hard time liking other games while waiting for Aion, but it's me, you might be different ant it's ok, plus, you don't want devs to consider when competitors release, trust me on this one. c) The game is being released in 2008, localized in 2009. d) OP asks who is going to play Aion after other MMOs are released? If Aion releases polished and addictive it will launch better than 99% of the MMORPGs, people can't miss those. |
