you've got travel power pools.  but not vehicle pools.  why not?  did devs at some point state that adding a motor cycle would be too much?

it could be a handful of power pools, each centered on a vehicle.  perhaps not large vehicles, but smaller ones, such as a motorcycle, a moped, a personal-heli (small helicopter), working jet packs, working wings, working rocket boots, personal submarine, jet ski, horse, mammoth, tiger, etc.

power pools COULD be built around these items.

for example, hover, flight, def/res boost, knockback attack for the wings.

motorcycle could be the actual chopper (horizontal speed + good jumping height?), *armor* (your helmet/costume are biker leathers and give added protection vs smashing/lethal/cold?), biker chain and/or lead pipe -- knockdown and damage for either,

moped could be tailored either for nerd rage or feminine. 

the animals could be pets on a short timer when not riding them.

the various vehicles could come with some 'gadgets' that you have access to.  perhaps some type of gun, harpoon, laser, maybe a spear for the tiger and you get a couple of attack types with it?  it could also be defensive equipment.  take some ideas from sets like munitions, but throw in a vehicle.

The thing is...what's the point of flying in a helicopter if you can just fly?


I do, however, like the idea of vehicular combat. That would be fun.

Yes but that's something that's needed and getting dated. Travel seems just fine as it is. Don't get me wrong...I'd love to see vehicles implemented but amidst redoing zones as you say and everything else they're working on I doubt we'd see it any time soon.

wouldn't it just require the people who work on powers, to work on the power pools?

 

i may have misunderstood, but aren't the people who are building/rebuilding zones different from the folks working on powers?  and that they have different people assigned to different areas?

i mean, the reason we got the VEATs IS because of the wedding pack sales.  otherwise, that issue would've just had next to nothing for new content. 

unless they're working on another epic AT; what new powers are they adding that they couldn't throw in a 4-power set along with their 1 or 2 10-power sets?  seriously, it was 7 months between issues and that little bit is all we got?

Just after issue 11 came out NCsoft did say that issue 12 would be a small issue and that issue 13 would be a rather large issue, so yes they did warn people in advance that issue 12 wouldnt contain much.

As for the vehicles and vehicle combat, i personally dont think vehicles are very super heroesque.  Vehicles  and vehicle combat was done before (auto assualt) and we know what happened there.

Lol ok the Batmobile does rock but it has no weaponry per se actually can anyone name one vehicle a comic character has used to mow down bad guys with?...besides tank girl :p

Then theres that age old comic book question, is batman a hero or just an out right vigilante that just needs a damn good shrink.

depending on which comic, cartoon, movie you're watching/reading ALL of batman's many vehicles seem to have offensive and defensive weapons/capabilities.

as does superman's supermobile.  pretty sure wonder woman's invisible jet has missiles + other stuff.  fantastic four's vehicles come in all shapes and sizes with all sorts of weapons and defenses. 

of course villain vehicles come with weapons and/or means to enhance their escape.

That was an early statement though. VEATs were supposed to be in i13 but they got moved up, as damian7 says, because the extra Wedding Sale cash gave them enough budget to make the push.

I say this to manage future expectations. I don't know what's in i13, but when they said it was large compared to a small 12 they were expecting VEATS to be one issue later.

While I think making vehicles and option for some of the existing travel powers would be great (for example, with fly your choice of jetpack, invisible plane, or helecopter), adding them in would be too muhc work.  I mean if you could ride a vehicle in game, wouldn't you like to be able to customize it?

I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
