Darkfall players will be  the idiots who think its fun to perma camp some noob all day long and wonder why after 3 months their server is dead. Darkfall playerbase will be horrible.

With no curse filter(key feature claimed by Thasos), you will read spam and curse words all day long, i just cant wait !!

Doesn't really matter until Darkfall actually releases. Until it does.. IF it does.. all features or promises of the game don't really matter. Now if Adventurine had a track record of releasing games or had something to give us some indication that this game is the goods, or their promises mean something, then maybe such features of such game would matter.

Nothing concrete. Then the details of such concrete could matter less.

However, I DO totally agree with you. I would hate playing any game where players could use symbols and numbers as part of their names. Seeing names like "Spiderman" in a fantasy realm is bad enough without seeing "$piderMaN4u-$suck3r". Heh.

You will be begging for WoW's naming system when (if) you seen the horrid names that are produced with numbers and symbols.

I agree with the OP. An MMO is not the place for names with characters other than letters. I don't know how to describe it, but it just makes the game feel cheap.

There is nothing wrong with a game appealing to this demographic. Lord knows they've been screaming for a game to fit their playstyle for a very long time. Not everything has to be "sanitized" for mass consumption. This is coming from a person who will not be playing darkfall because it is not the type of game I would play.

Doesn't mean I can't support the existance of a game like this.

I think most players today cant understand there is no nametags in DF. 

That should end this thread, but some will come up with some weird argument anyway. And weird name neon nametags didnt stop anyone in WoW. So thats another reason why this thread is pointless . )

So what if there's no nametags?  Try sending a whisper/tell to a name like that a few times.
