Person 2: "Pfft, carebear, graphics arn't everything, us hardcore PvPers are about gameplay"

This is the basic content of EVERY DF post in existence. So let me ask you this, where is the gameplay?

I don't see any besides a huge wall of text telling us how epic all these features and systems are, but where is the proof? You keep justifying the joke of a trailor as "Gameplay > Graphics" yet Darkfall has NEITHER. Where are some pics of the UI? An actual fight that isn't poorly made cinimiatics? I want DF to work as much as the next guy, but you guys are being overconfident and almost naive. This game has yet to present anything.

Video dude, watch it. That's proof enough that it's better than any other MMO on the market. Not that this would be hard to accomplish. You basically need to NOT have auto-attack you and pretty much win the PvP award.

DF not only does that, but it gives us some pretty awesome JKII-esque magic attacks and naval combat.

Basically, with what we've seen in the videos alone, we can see that game play will be better in DF than it is in all other MMOs. If the devs come through with the rest of their promises (they've promised over 500 different spells and 500 different skills) then we'll see an overall product that is better in nearly every regard (except graphics of course!).

Any other concerns?

I'm with you OP, I want this game to rock but people are taking the fact that the video proved the game existed as the video proving the game play is exactly what the devs promised, or that the game play is exactly what the player posting wants it to be. But in all honesty none of it was in the video.

starting a thread by calling people fanboys...and then saying "EVERY DF" post is like this....is just showing us that this thread isnt worth it.

Gameplay is better than graphics...but guess what...the graphics are more than fine in DF...the animations need work.

And you can think the trailer was a joke all you want, but the vast majority disagree with you and dont need anymore proof.  That will come in beta in a month or so.  The trailer did exactly what it was suppose to, but people like you keep pulling things out of thin air and try to state that the video was suppose to be something more.

It wasnt cinematics.  It was ingame footage but without ui.  It was showing what the possibilities that this game has to offer, and it did that and more.

Again...the vast majority of people were more than happy with the video.  It appeased the fans, brought new players to the game, and turned a lot of naysayers into fans.

The graphics are very good, just not at the top of the food chain.  The animations need work.

The gameplay is original and hard for some to comprehend, but the video did show the gameplay.  Wait for OB videos to see ui etc.

This game has presented plenty, and is going to turn a bunch of heads.  But even when it releases, people are still going to find things to complain about.

You are entitled to your opinion...but just realize you are in the minority.

If you really dont think the video proved the game exists...take of your tinfoil hat and think for a second.  If you really think it was faked...ask yourself why they would do this.  They arent askin for money, you are just bitter and want to keep calling it vapor...i dont care if you say "i want to see it succeed" now, because i have seen you in other threads bashing it.

Is it possible it was faked...sure.  But is it probable?  of course not. 

Here are two screenshots (i love doin this)

One is from oblivion, which is known for its graphics.  And the other is an old old screenshot of Darkfall.  look pretty close to me...definitely not terrible.

People just want this game to fail because they are afraid of it or they dont like the pvp community and cant stand to have them have thier game.  Also they forget that the latest trailer was not shot at the best settings and most are getting their nonsense from the washed out youtube versions.

Sorry buy your arguements fail and just expose you for what you are.  The graphics are fine.  The gameplay is there.  See you in game.

Look the video; it was in game made and have:

1- ships and naval combat;

2- a battle with almost 50 players and a calvalry attack;

3- a castle siege;

4- crafting (sadly, not enough on the video about the crafting process);

5- players at high places shooting arrows at long distances;

6- mounted combats where the mount can be killed;

7- a mob (a lizardman) using a staff for attack players with spells, then changing to two daggers and jumping over the players for melee combat (so they have an interesting AI)

Look, if you people don't want to play the game, referring to the OP, then don't.

The graphics are fine, the gameplay has been shown, we have seen plenty of screenshots of the UI.

We will all know soon enough if the game is real, what it offers, and if it is worth playing.  It isn't any more difficult than that.

Quit trying to get attention.  Some of us are capable of making you look silly in any debate you offer.

How do you think PvP is going to work out. We know several things for a fact:

1. You manually mouse aim all of your arrows, bolts, and spells.
2. You manually mouse aim your melee attacks.
3. You can attack other ships on the water.

Maybe this isn't enough to sell you, but this already sets DF pretty high on my list of MMOs because of just these facts alone. Let alone everything else that it is offering.

Anyway, beta is around the corner. Why don't you just wait and see? What's with the hate. Sometimes I think you people don't want the game to be good. Quit being pussies and just let the game be. If it fails, it fails. If it succeeds, then it succeeds. You know about 1/10th as much about this game as I do. I've been following it for 7 years. I still don't know 1/5th as much as I'd like, but you'd still do well to pay attention to what people who have been following the game for years have to say.

yep i eagerly await the person who will eventually try to argue that the screenshots i put up still show that DF has "dated" graphics.  let them go play their AoC with amazing graphics....oh wait....   ok how about war with its.....oh wait......just like WoW cartoons (which i think are fine, but they are from 2003 so stop bein hypocrits and saying DF is dated while WAR is omg)
