Why do you people actually believe that this company is scamming us all? I'm talking to you trolls out there, and the people that think that the chance of the game coming out decreases every day. I have to say this - it actually increases! Because why would it not?

First of all, if you don't believe Darkfall to be a real game developed by a real company, you can stop reading here.

If you're in doubt, there has been proof of establishbed Contracts, a loan reaching up to 20 million dollars, and I'm sure I forget about something here.

I've been a member of the Darkfall Community for 2 years, I'm very hyped up for the game even though I've been let down and disappointed by some things the developers have done.

So please set your mind on a release. There is a chance it won't come out soon after christmas, but every day the chance of it coming out improves, and soon we'll have the box in our hands ;)

Trolls troll and will say anything to get a rise from the other side. They don't necessarily believe that it's all just a scam, it's just with the long development history and the abortive beta many years ago, the Darkfall forum here has become a magnet for trolls. Darkfall was seen in the past as an easy target.

I don't see how pointing out that Darkfall has a history of broken promises is trolling. I don't think it's trolling to point out that the list of game features has been grossly exaggerated (or do you really believe Darkfall is bigger than Warcraft, with mounted combat as good as Mount & Blade, and ship combat that is better than Pirates of the Burning Sea?).

So relax, the negative vibes will NOT stop Christmas from coming.

I think the big influx of trolls today is influenced by the massive failure of WAR EU yesterday and the generally increased level of criticism on their board now more people have had a chance to play it.

The war fanboys are angry and are lashing out.

I don't think the troll population is on the rise. It's the same idiots posting it over and over. They get banned, and post with a new name. Why all the OP troll's are on their first post in the forums. If anything there are beginning to be way more support in the Darkfall community. Notice the 7.08 hype meter, which is slowly rising, almost daily. Most of the trolls have given up and will move to Mortal Online. R.I.P to the DFO trolls.

I totally agree and I think that applies to all MMOs and games in general.

Lately, I had been very active in WAR's forum and I saw a lot of people complaining about it.  Personally, I think it's because most people were attracted by the hype and discovered the game wanst what they were looking for.

Imho, the best thing we can all do is to try to explain, in the clearest way we can, what each MMO is.

Saying things like "DF is revolutionary" or "DF will be the best MMO ever" doesnt add much, imo.

Explaining this is a sandbox and what a sandbox is or explaining what FFA PvP w/full looting is, helps a lot more.

I would love to see you list some of the broken promises, as a lot of it is myth and people not understanding the concept of under development.

Well given the tight-lipped aura surrounding AOC and then seeing the hunk of crap it turn out to be has left many of us a lil gun shy.  I do understand your question however I think this has more to do with troll wars deteriorating into all out ego battles than it does with the actual expectations for this game. 

A guy takes a side and another comes along and says HEY YOURE WRONG, after a while they dont even know what they believe, but they continue posting back at the other guy!

Keeper2000 had a really good point saying that we should be clear as to telling new players why we believe darkfall will be so great. Saying its gonna be revolutionary or the best MMO ever will only end up with people being disapointed because they just went along with the hype train rather then liking a game for what it was intended to be.
