Wonder what has been going on that LOTRO on Xfire has seen a steady decline since Sunday? a Little larger than normal.

X-Fire Chart

Was there some updates done through the week or down time?

Yep....  Patch...

All week? As the drop has been pretty large. When was the patch?

Cheers

Just wait until the weekend...

There was an unsual late week patch that forced all of the late night and pacific players to log off early/

I also imagine our normal numbers were a bit inflated by the summer festival and ringlore quests, which were really popular and started around the beginning of that graph. In fact we got the ringlore quests done much faster than Turbine had expected us to by some accounts.    As folks get done with book 14 I imagine you'll likely see things start to go back to the normal steady players until MoM launches.

And Open, really man, I'm done.  It's perfectly OK for someone to have a different opinion from me, that doesn't bother me in the slightest.  But you've been saying pretty much the same things in slightly different ways over and over again on this board mostly every day you weren't banned for more than a year.  At this point "conversation" with you seems utterly pointless .  You can start posting that the game is Nazi propoganda programmed by Hitler and Satan for all I care.  I'm not responding to you on this board again.

I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.

Uh...ok.

Sorry I had noticed the large drop in the chart, thought it was odd, and asked a question. Do you guys look for conspiracys against LOTRO in everything? Chill pills all around.

Gosh, can't believe what I'm reading in here

LotRO won't collaps, but it won't have WoWs numbers. I personally love this game but I don't care if someone thinks it's not as good as in my opinion is. It's true that Openedge repeat stuff quite often, but you always replay with same facts too. You all should just accept different opinions, may they bi biased or not. If you enjoy you're game (and I do), I don't need someone to say me: "Yes, you're game is really great" to feel satisfied.

However, there was quite great debate inhere beside these conflicts Now, if it's possible, continue with discussion titled: If only this game could get 1/4 of WoW population.

I don't want that. A million would be great, just for Turbine because they deserve it... They really should hyped this game as much as FC did with AoC, and we'd have many more players here. That's true about PvP being important thing, but I somehow don't think that those that are playing LotRO are such kind of people to PvP alot. I have nothing agains PvP, but smart PvP. Not ganking but direct confrontation of characters on same lvl.

However, there is different type of PvP in LotRO... And I don't mean just PvMP, but the fact, that that was true in LotR Universe :) Creeps, or Dark Lord always had many more soldiers than Free People has, and they didn't won everytime. And that's the point in PvMP - massive battles where freeps are outnumbered but they may still won if they do their best. It's maybe not so great for creeps, but... I don't mind dying if I have great fun :) And if I'm not wrong, there are no repairs for creeps (not sure about that).

I'll just add something about X-Fire. LotRO player base is quite unique... There are lots of people (atleast that I met on Laurelin [EN-RP]) that aren't gamers at all, and LotRO is one of their first games that they are playing more often. So I don't think that they have X-Fire in such a great numbers than for example AoC player has. But not sure about that either, just thinking out loud :) I have X-fire installed but I turn it off when I log into LotRO, just feel that game runs better on my computer without X-fire.

About the drops this week, I'd say it really is because many people (hardcore one mosty --> those that in my opinion has x-fire) left till Moria, because they've done with B14 and summer festival stuff :)

At the end, I'd like to appologize for my english. I'm not writing in this language often so...

Your English may not be good, but it is very well said.

I agree with the Hype. Like I have stated, LOTR is such an awesome license, and it should have done much better than it did. It does not mean it is failing, but right now it is very sparse based on the many conversations I have read and seen.

I am also wondering what will happen when WAR releases, if the numbers can hold up for MoM or not. Guess overall sales will tell us that when MoM is released.

Thanks for the explanation of the XFire drop. I did see an article about the Festival, and did not know it had ended. Makes perfect sense. When content exists, people play, when content dries up, people do not. And the fact you explained it quite well, that is kind of you. For bad English, your reasoning makes more sense than someone just deciding to attack instead.

Good luck and have fun

Cheers to you!

You must have been posting like crazy to get hardcore wityh only 13 posts, welcome to the boards

I totally agree with most of your points.

I like the PvP as well, and I play practically 100% on the creep side.  A lot of players that try it get ticked when they see how underpowered creeps start out compared to a freep maxed out with teals.  However I never minded, I felt like it fit in with the books well.  Think about the battle of Helms Deep and the overwhelming numbers that the orcs and goblins needed to nearly win, for example.

And truth be told, if you rank a creep character up high enough, they start to become a bit badass.  The highest rank creeps can go toe to toe with any 50 freep (well besides a well played Burgler ).

And don't worry about your English, I'm sure it's a hell of a lot better than my Slovenian.

I don't want to write this, and you don't want to read it. But now it's too late for both of us.
