"Eye for an Eye"

Here is an image of my new Dwarf. Looking at the Dwarf from the back you can see some noticeable things. Anything that has a shadow on the armor is diffused with a gradient blossom effect.

The way that dx 10 effects clothing shadows is almost always over looked, the feeling of depth is gain with dx10 shader as well as the feeling of layers, as well as every peice of bump mapping on the armors and charcters to be that more enhanced with dx10.. Also the environment shader wraps itself around the character naturally giving yet more depth to the over all character model. Personal can;'t see anything specifically wrong , and at this point 1.5 years into the game it just gets better and better, which eggs more trolls and haters and wannabe "official beta tech guys but got ignored by the developer" to knit pick. If LotRO only has a bunch of knit pickers at this point, we are on a great road !

Big up to all the LotRO players making this the greatest community that anyone could ever hope for !

We must abolish ignorance or we will fail.

I sense someone trying to gain new players. Your screen doesn't show much of anything new. DX10 adds in more shadows to the world. I took a old screen before DX10 and compared it with yours and they are both the same except for the shadows on the ground from the trees.

Try and pick a better screen next time showing off what you mean. Like when DX10 got released for this game the developers released 4 screens showing what the DX10 added to this game and it didn't say anything about making armors pop out anymore with shadows, I can't even see what your talking about here.

I voted for Obama.

Live Life today, Because tomorrow is but a dream and yesterday only a
memory!

I can see exactly what he is talking about have a look at the little details in the clothing from the crease marks in the back of his shirt it may only be little but to me that makes a big difference i personally dont use DX10 although i can but choose not for due to the fact i dont like Vista designating where my system ram goes but yeah i can see what ya talking about Solareus i had noticed this before but never thought to post about it because at the time i thought ppl would flame me because AoC was meant to be the first MMO with DX10 and they would try to prove that the DX10 in LoTRo is a myth.

And believe me this is not a spin to get   more players the servers are healthy (not saying there is a 10 million ppl playing) just i know this as i have just rolled toons on all servers to see which one would like to start my journey again with (chose Brandywine) and they were all very healthy with ppl especially the bloody horse fields ppl were lining up just to be able to get a bloody ugly mount with green carpet on it lol  (sorry i love the game but the mounts are damn ugly).

Seems too small. Cannot see that much detail in the armor.

This pic shows a TON of detail, and does not even need DX10.

Including dried blood on the chain links.

Can you maybe blow up your picture a little larger?

...in all the shades of brown... and why is that guy floating on top of the platform?

You don't like the art direction and style of LotRO, that has been made clear from your first post on this part of forum. Thank you for your opinion! On the other hand, many find the "paintingy" style of LotRO decent enough, even borderline excellent. The graphics competition isn't matter of looking natural, it's a matter of art, and in that competition your photorealism just falls flat on it's face. "Photorealism" might look neat to technofreaks, but then art is something completely different.

Your point is - once again - moot, and you seem to be just trolling this forum, not giving anything constructive in any of your postings. You are even below troll in that regard, congrats!

The game is to some extent overall very fun, no question,

Regarding the pic, armor is quite nice nothing impressive and I dont see a big difference when I compare it do Dx9,

But what is really annoying are the blocky trees, e.g. the one to the right.  Looking forward to an engine upgrade.

Well, I was able to fix this one.

But, this one shows my point of contention.

As a male myself (ya, ya, go figure), I do not have and have NEVER in my life had a size 2 waist as is exhibited on this character.

The facial details are also non-existent. But, as Turbine has shown with the new NPC's for Book 14, I do believe that they can make progress on the models. I like the DDO models faces considerably more as well, and those display some great looking visuals.

So, MoM should be a winner if they advance the style.
