1. Kill gremlin for Blue Gemstone get level 2.
2. Talk to Newbie Guide, goto Kamael village and do Wooden Set quest.
3. Talk to Newbie Guide, gain Wooden Set, top NG shadow weapons and level 6 and Newbie buffs.
4. Do the next quest depending on your starting village, talk to Newbie Guide to gain level 10.
5. Turn in that quest to jump to level 12. Do the next quest at the Newbie Guide to get to level 15.
6. Do the final Newbie Guide quest to level to 18.
7. Now you can do your first class change quest at level 18, completing the quest will easily level you to twenty. You are now first class changed in 35 minutes to an hour. You have full vitality (Providing you didn't try to grind) and you have enough adena to buy top D grade weapon, armor and Jewelry from Giran Standard shop. Congratulations, you don't need to use adena on anything but shots until 40, where you can buy entire top C for 500k!

8. Level to 40, do the shortened class change quest! You don't need to do the infamous long class change quests anymore.
9. Crystalize and sell your Standard D grade, buy Standard C grade.
10. At level 52 it will get tricky, you can't buy Standard B grade, however Low B grade is now in Luxury shop and significantly less pricey. Acquire a low B weapon and armor set for less than 15 million.

*Raid Bosses now have increased EXP rewards and are the best way to level 20-40 if you have a decent party.

**Do Kamaloka when you have exhausted your Vitality, it lowers your vitality but the experience rewards are the same no matter. You can only do this once a day, it takes 10-15 minutes but gives full drops and good exp.

Is this guide for the way it is right now on Live? or is this guide based on Test Server play?

Just started again, and was wondering if I could use this immediatly.

Rock a FailCom avatar now and express your disgust with pride!

The truth hurts...

No, this is based on whats on the test server. It's whats to come. Meaning I'd recommend new players waiting until the new patch comes out before subscribing. At the very least you can find someone with a Friend key so you can try out the changes on the Test Server.

However it may be difficult to find a key because you only get 4 keys every so often to give to friends, they only last a week and players would only give them out willingly to "friends" or people who have promised to subscribe (they get a free month out of it).

its kind of sad though.  Just getting to 40 was hard when I first started L2.  constant PvP at low levels, fighting for spawns, not much equipment in the game... they've made it so easy.  Its good but... its just not Lineage2.

They haven't really made it "easy". Theres just a lot more content to go through. 85 levels and high end content.

Don''t Panic!!!!

fasttx, I was reading the cash rewards were significantly increased for the class transfer quest, how true is that? I believe I read on the boards that the lvl 40 quest now gives you half a million adena?

Also I am a bit unclear on one point, I know standard items include armor but are there also standard weapons?

Most of the game population is over level 40 anyway. Lets be honest, 1-40 doesn't do anything for gameplay but act as a barrier to the primary class transfer.

I doubt you are going to be saying "its to easy" once you sail past the levels they made easier. In the interviews its relatively "easier" to level 60. Also, there are no "standard items past B grade so the Adena grind will kick in with a vengence. That will bring most of the new people who don't know about it to their knees.

I would guess you are going to see a lot of B graders running around in standard C grade especially if they are new to the game. They will blow all their cash on SS and junk thinking the game will stay like WoW then Bam, lovely L2 will kick them in the crotch with a level wall and having to face the market.

The only thing that bothers me is these changes will more then likely kill off the market for everything C grade and below. Whos going to want to buy anything C & D gade at all for millions of adena to include over enchanted if you can blow through the levels in a few days / week? So it has the potential of hurting the long time players as well who make a living off of C & D grade. It could also maybe inflate SS as more money will be available as cheap standard gear will losen pocketbooks. It will also probably kill off all the lower end catacombs.

This is going to have some very dramatic changes to the landscape of L2, I agree with that. Rather then being a mid-level heavy population game, its going to be a higher end heavy game. Secondary classes will become more common as will Nobles and Heroes and such...

I think they thought of everything in this update. They are making crafting more worthwhile. Theres a chance for "critical craft" where you craft two items instead of one, also a crafted rare item effect might be placed on the item. Also many people depend on overenchanted D/C grade weapons and armor with Special Abilities and SA's. Some healers prefer a C grade Homunculus with Accumen or Mana Up just because they aren't as dependant on weapons, just their SA's.

You can probably see the market switch to soulshots and consumables for the levels 1-52, and the price market for 61+ is going to be unstable and overpriced for the first few weeks. However soul/spirit shot prices should lower by 10% and most significantly in B grade and A grade. S grade shouldn't see a significant price decrease.

As for 2nd class change you have the option of doing the quests or paying 1 million per mark (kinda like private servers do). The CCQ are more rewarding and give worthwhile experience, a few levels worth and probably a few adenas. New players will do the quests if they are legit, and gain some adena, experience. As for alts and rerollers, they will have the option of spending 10 minutes to pay 3 million adena to skip it altogether.
