There are a lot of different opinions and preferences in this thread, but I'd just like to re-state the following:
Aion is being developed to appeal to a global audience. We are moving away as far as we can from the traditionally perceived 'grinder' type of games.
Of course, in any MMO it's virtually impossible to remove the need for repeating certain tasks at times, but we are really putting emphasis on richness of content and depth. The levelling curve will be very reasonable, and we want to make sure that you as a player have enough things to do (and a good time, of course) as you play through the game.
That's the path we've taken for Aion all along, and that's a definite. :)
They do not affect Aion. :)

blade and soul does actually look good, and u can expect it probably within 2 years (its been in the works for awhile now known as Project M by codemasters). I actually found it from Aionsource.com but it was linked to the korean site. btw, if the cg looks familiar its cuz its from the same artist that made Magna Carta.
Codemasters? I thought it was NC Soft?
Yes, Blade & Soul is an NCsoft game. Not Codemasters. It is correct that it was referred to as Project [M] before its formal announcement. :)

no eu/na beta testing

why test what has already been tested?
Reinforcement in finding any bugs, making sure the translations are good to go, advertising the game to a wider spectrum of gamers.
There are many reasons they should consider beta testing for NA/EU. Just because they were burned with the L2 beta doesn't mean they should be gun shy about having a beta for NA/EU.
That's exactly the role that our Preview Events will fill. They will help us to get ready for start, make a final check on localization and gather certain feedback. We feel that we can best facilitate these needs, as well as your wish to try the game before launch, by hosting these events. :)
There still seem to several fundamental misconceptions on the matter - So please check my blog post on the matter if you haven't already:

I suggest that everyone in this thread who haven't already, head over to my blog where I talk about the Aion Preview Events we will be holding.
Thanks. I can't wait to learn more. This is really the 'do or die' moment for my (and possiby others) thoughts about buying the game or not.
You are definitely not alone. Being able to try the game prior to launch is important to many. Just ignoring that fact is not an option for us, which is a part of why we're holding these events. :)
