I can't see them merging servers, they have never done it with Anarchy Online, and with the instanced way the game works with the battlekeeps, I don't think they will have the skill to pull it of.
The game will end up like Star Wars Galaxies, a bunch of dead servers with a hundred or so players on them, and having to pay to transfer your toon over to another more populated server.
This is a good vid too, shows the possible scale of battles, if only....

Been playing this game for years, still no game touches it terms of mounted combat, and to think it was made by 2 people.

It used to be free to play , Never thought it was gong to be released for retail . I tried it out years ago , It actually looks like it's come a long way since then. IS it worth the 25$ in your opinion ? Do they still have a free to play option?
Edit-nvm I hit the download button , which answered my own question . They do, Try before buy.
It was never free to play, there is a demo and you had the option to the buy the game even though it was still an unfinished beta though all updates were free. The game has been in development for years by a team of only 2 developers, and now has been picked up by Paradox and being finished off.
Its an amazing game, the only game I have played with decent mounted combat, it also has an excellent modding community.

It will probably be to late for some people , but for the game itself ? I don't think so , It's barely a few months old at this point. If it improves I'll give it another shot.
No. You won't.
Well, maybe YOU (personally) will Malickiebloo, but the "you" of the wider games community will not.
The harsh reality of the computer games world is that there will always be something new coming along, and if Developers don't get it right the first time around (or very nearly right) there will no longer be second chances.
A few years ago, when we (gamers I mean) were not spoiled for choice games could afford to have a less than stellar release...
But now I count 30+ released titles on the left of my screen and another 10+ in development.
I intend to try several of those, in fact, I have for some time... but the ones I am already playing keep me busy enough already.
And like most gamers now, there is always something I want to try, and haven't yet tried, to move on to when I get bored of the last thing.
So, like most people, I rarely go back to a game once I have left it.
On the bright side - because the market is so unforgiving now - they will have to lift their performance if they want to stay in business.
Hmm I don't know if all evidence confirms your claims , plenty of people seem to have went back and tried VG:SOH , EQ2 and other games that had bad launches but were turned around later on.
You seem to be describing the ADD gamer, The type of customer new games seek to attract . Those who think of MMO's as games you play to "endgame" then move on. The type of person who is constantly looking for that next game to release or try .
I look for a game that I can grow into and play for years not only until I reach "endgame". Quests or raids don't appeal to me , Socialization , guild warring and city building are what I seek. I don't even care whether I have the best gear , as long as I have fun during my play sessions I'm content .
I also don't attempt to speak for groups of people , When I have no hard evidence to back it up .Which is exactly why I spoke for myself .
As far as AOC goes , It's not just a matter of whether everyone who quits decides to go back or not . There are plenty of customers out there who haven't tried the game yet , Who quite possibly would really enjoy it (given true improvements are made) theoretically speaking of course .
True Vanguard and EQ2 are fixed now and are even good, unfortunity the population is'nt there and that is a big turn off for me and some people, these games had there chance and because they failed in the beginning have alienated gamers, so they stuggle.
AoC will have the same fate, they may fix it to a reasonable condition, but they will have a extremely hard time getting subs back.
