You guys are making it way too complicated. I can understand why you don't enjoy the fighting, I would be frustrated too by doing it in the same way. As you say you can't manage 12 keys, you are staring only at the key board.
This is how I do it:
1. I move by pressing my right+left mouse buttons
2. My 3 left hand fingers are on button 1,2 and 3 to slash my sword (these are the ONLY keys needed). No other keys are needed. You can then also dodge with double hitting a,s,d,w,s while fighting, but mainly the hand is always on 1,2,3 with asdw near by.
3. My combos are on the skill bars, I start them by clicking on them with the mouse... then follows 1,2 or 3 as required.
This way combat feels great to me, I really enjoy it. Putting your char in frenzy of defensive stances is another plus.
That is also how I played. So long as you continue doing normal swings it works great, but the moment you try a combo you become a sitting duck.
That you did, I just wanted to reinforce the idea that Aion can still be a hit even if it has nothing new. We won't know until the game is on the market, and I have no knowledge of any system that proves otherwise.
I often have a hard time getting my name in any game I play. It doesn't help the fact that it's a frequently heard name in all the Elder Scrolls games...
It helps to have a few other good names that you like for back ups just in case, just try not to steal any names you've seen others use in other games.
Anyway, the character creation in CoX is the first and only system that I've actually been able to imagine a character look, and then build it without any problems whatsoever. The only thing that prevented me from subbing to this game after my trial was the incredibly bland and boring environment. It was cool to run through the city at first, but after about an hour the novelty effect wore off and it all looked the same to me. I would atleast check out Champions online if they could boast an equivilant character creation and a unique world.
I'm a furry on the inside so I'd have to choose Asmodian with some of their animal like features. Also it's good that someone pointed out that it isn't a matter of good vs. evil factions like it is some games. Even myself being lore ignorant, it makes sense that if Elyos are more aggressive that their cities lie in the more preferred region. I think the good vs. evil is a bit over done and the shades of grey has more potential. I may have just admitted that reality is more interesting than fantasy...
Mabye NCSoft is a bit embarassed after the unbelievable amount of hype richard garriot put out. I know I was... Each time he put out something new, it was like one of those movies where you know a character is going to do something really stupid and you just can't watch... ![]()
