I prefer TH for hunting actually :P Gladiator is more of a PvP character, while the slashing graphics are kind of hot :D I think that nothing will be changed, as i was recently informed if you start now. Ahm, as for the update, i have heard of it either but another guy said it is not an official word. Actually, they rarely speak about specific dates, they won't say too much, just implement it. Mysticism :P Anyway, it deserves playing L2 (again), but i have to say that new guys DO sign up for the update's favor. You can generally see comments of type: "Wow, this update (e.g. transformations, new raid, more deadly Kamael stuff) makes me wanna play L2; it really changed the core of the game". Imo they are right. Have you started anyway or am i trying to convince you without any reason? :P
Should you try the game or "what class should i chose"? :P
If you haven't still tried it out, let me give you some facts:
Pros:
1) Lineage 2 is one of the most discussed games since it was first created.
2) It is worthy of trying, as you can see high-resolution role-playing characters.
3) It has a well-thought story, that it is updated -and upgraded- i would say with every major update the game managers make.
4) You can find out new places and new stuff that you cannot find anywhere else in another RPG.
Cons:
1) It may has a well-thought story, but each update adds much more info that you may ask yourself: "Yes, in the whole Aden World, they didn't find out Kamael, they now found the race, after 6 almost chronicles.." (example)
2) You may become really addicted, in a point that you may dream of the game, if you do play lots of hours every day. (This is not a joke, it is a fact, too much discussed between Lineage 2 Players)
3) In any server, you can find Pkers. Pkers comes out of "PK"=People/Persons Killed. This is a real con for some, there is no insurance for the players being hit or killed by other players. This is a suggestion i would like to make by the way: I think it should be add a button that enables entering a "mode"; the leveling up-mode and the normal mode. If being in the normal mode, you can get hit by other players, UNLESS you hit them as well (what we call flag). If being in leveling-up mode, you will be able only to get killed and hit by monsters or vengeful NPCS :P . This PK system is certainly part of the game, but how many times have i been traveling to regions and some had been waiting there alreasy with karma to kill me?! Lots... So, you might forget leveling up in certain regions of the map.
Generally i think it deserves trying. Good luck and trust me, you will enjoy being in the world of Aden and Elmore :)
Thank you for info. Torak, i edited the post myself, without any notification by sovrath. You may have checked my post when i was in editing. Well, i am interested in suggesting some stuff, that might be an idiot leak in the official forums. Thanks a lot.
IF you are about to create a mage once, know that the one that deserves true attention and devotion is the Spellhowler - Storm Screamer. Except for the fact that i am so attracted to these mages (Maybe because of the female's voice when casting spells or even because she's kind of hot :)), they are said to be more powerful than any other mage.. Once, a guy trie to compare the Overlord vs a Spellhowler. Maybe the Overlord is considered as powerful mage, but he is not a dps mage. He has just lots of debuffs -which make him own, i admit it- and an unstoppable drain. Storm Screamer has greater power, not greater casting speed than Mystic Muse of course (when a Storm Screamer ends casting his spell, Mystic Muse will be at the middle of he second spell casting...). Human might be a good solution, as they have either good casting speed and good magic power, but they are said and they are indeed weaker from many aspects. Generally, mages are not too preferable, as lots of jewels may now provide resistance against each elemental attack that a mage can produce. Dagger-based characters are way too powerful as well, but again, i think there is a jewel that provides +20% resistance to dagger attacks. Finally, worthy of effort is an archer, I'd definately choose Hawkeye, cause again, Humen are a combination of Dark Elves and Elves.. Elves in speed and Dark Elves in power. If you want more info, Elves has higher chance to land a critical strike comparing with the Dark Elves, but Dark Elves inflict greater damage on their critical. Hawkeyes have again the same: Mid-rated critical power and mid-rated speed in attacks. So, a combination is always preferable. Archers will be -AT LAST- weakened with Swordsinger's new Song against bow attacks. Bows have the greater P. attack of all of the weapons, so it is normal that bow-based chars will deal greater pure damage than other characters..
Thanks for your time, a lot. In order though for a greek guy (in the lands of nowhere :P ) to call a korean (?) - not even an real english-speaking (?) person, i need more info about what you gave me. What exactly is him? :) Is it what i would find myself or do u still suggest i should try NCSoft official site?
