    • Losing interest in DDO, due to how hard it is to find groups.

I was very positive about returning and Im starting to even think about playing PnP DnD as DDO has really got me into it but when it comes to paying to sit lfg I dont see the point.

Also, Im talking about the european servers - there are only two and another merge is required but then once that server goes empty then the game is dead for europe. I see no guilds actively recruiting either and when I ask people about their guild they say they have to pug all the time. This game has a really bad population problem and if you find someone you dont get along with then god help you with trying to avoid them.

Which of the EU servers are you on?

I played CoX for a couple of years, it is a nice enough game. However the ability to solo all the missions comes at the expense of them be pig boring and extreme deja vu.

Personally I would rather wait to do a proper quest with a decent combat engine, than have vanilla quests and instant action. Although I understand your annoyance, that would be too big a step backwards for me.

I would prefer a more positive approach than server-merges, firstly a big marketing push, followed by a look at the way filler content can be added to give something to do between real quests. IMO explorer areas are under utilised, and too honest (kill, explore, rares) , those bits are made trivial by their presentation. In other MMOs those would be wrapped with some story and you would be sent in and out of the explorer area to kill, find and combat rares. Turbine need to do this, maybe even turning these instances in to zones rather than instances.

Here is a quick example of how it could work I posted on the EU forums.

A kill x, fetch this, click that and a DDO quest are only shades of grey apart. Some people can't even tell the difference (although that does begger belief). So there is plenty of room in the middle for easier to produce content, that isn't the boring MMO stuff.

Off the top of my head, why not have small chains of simple quests set in the Vale each one as back story to the main quests:

      Evening the Odds

Main quest is to reduce the number of devils.

      Mission 1: Closing the Rift

      Rare encounter already there.

      Mission 2: A Festering Wound

Recon stealth mission you need to get close to a couple of named bosses that are meeting without them being aware. Small cutscene where an argument breaks out between them. (Choose any two devil rare encounters, mission failed if you kill them or are seen, designed so you can stealth or kill off lookouts and approach).

Mission 3: Brewing Dissent in the Ranks

Collect evidence from one camp/patrols (limited kill), ambush a patrol and plant the evidence.

      Mission 4: No Witnesses

Cutscene of the two bosses arguing, fighting breaks out. Simple clean up mission with a three way fight.

Chain completed reward and some dialogue link to Running With Devils.

    • It may not suit your playstyle or character build, but I found it quite a rewarding experience running quests (few levels lower if required) solo or duo, on the harder settings. The runs are slower and you get to soak up the detail, that is often glossed over grouping in quests.

Not to mention that Flagship Studios closed down three days ago, and the HGL servers will most likly close down next week.

That is a shame, you had almost tempted me to give it a try.

I think they should advertise whatever they want
It is OK so long as it is in the context of the game
This is just wrong, no ads in games...period.
