Gosh! , I found the game had so many bugs in the Open Beta that were not there in the Closed Beta , the dungeons are closed ( Chaste Sanctum ) , the Hook armours are bugged and even going through the normal hunting I found bugs and it is meaningless to play this game now.

Never till this game is that I saw a game going crappy from Closed Beta to Open Beta, when we all know that generally the reverse is what is true.

It was a nice game till level 40ish when we played it but now it seems, the game is in poor state.

You can read my previous posts on Requiem game and I am really sorry to make a post like this as I hate to write posts like this.

      Cheers

Its called beta for a reason, to test the game in various ways.

If you enter Beta's and expect a finished game, you need to go to the pharmacy and collect some brainpills.

    • After using AoC's forums, no official forums for WAR seems smart

I think Mythic has picked up on this change in the MMORPG player populace.  I think it started in WoW and has become worse from there.  Official forums are no longer used for players to discuss gameplay, share information, and discuss current ingame events, or current RL events.  Official forums are merely seen as a right to troll and post useless junk on a perceived important place where many will see it.  Many see the forums as more of a game than the actual game.

This type of abuse of official forums will continue to increase.  Gaming companies will continue to not be able to adequately moderate their forums in fear of losing customers, or causing more outbreaks of unhappy customers when they see their "rights" taken away.  Unaffiliated private forums will just be able to do the job better.  Look at the WoW forums and then look at the Elitist Jerks forums and its easy to tell which is better.

Anyways, not sure if I summed this up to well, but I think anyone else currently trying out Age of Conan will agree that their official forums have hit an all-time low in the quality of official MMORPG gaming forums.  It's literally like falling into the trash compactor on the Death Star and wading through junk while some monster tries to pull you underwater and drown you.  Seems that the overall MMORPG player base has degraded to a point where giving them a "right" to a forum no longer works.

The problem in AoC isnt the actual forum, it's the lack of experienced moderators.

Yup, but the games are bad so it doesnt matter.

Am i the only one that thinks they should stop trying to make better and better graphics? Isnt it enough soon?

Get a great game with the graphics available and you will get the subscribers, instead of what happened to Lotro (and what is about to happen to AoC), many bought the game but cancelled the subscription after the free 30 days.

AoC's graphics will look dated before you know it, they did the right choice because MMORPGs last so many years.

it has low system requirements for tomorrow's super PC.

Solid state harddisks are already here, but expensive. Samsung is releasing a 256 GB SSD with 200 MB/s transfer rate soon, can you say insta loading?

We are entering solid state era soon, huge textures will be no problem. My next PC will make my current PC seem ancient

So what if there will come something even more awesome graphically?

So what if the new harddrives can go faster, make dinner and drive your kids to school?

Those things doesnt really matter if the need for it is just theoretical?

When WoW opened anyone with a 1-3 yo pc could play it on good/great graph. (and still can),  if you want to do that on AoC you need to invest 10 times the worth of the game to even come close to high-end graphics. How many outside the hardcore mmorpg-community is prepared to do that, especially when the "recommended" isnt even close to get you a playable game (imo).

I bough AoC with a recommended+ pc at hand to see this mindblowing graphics, amazing and groundbreaking PvE and kickass pvp.

      I got neither.

Well, im sure it balances the trolls making multiple accounts giving it 10 over and over again.

In the end every game gets the rating it deserves, LotrO had a 9.1 rating after launch if i remember it correctly.
