    • Advice about EVE please
    • Elsa,

If that has been your experience, then youu should be looking for another corp to work with.  Your experience and mine are very different, that's for sure!

OP, not sure about training guides, but as others have said, Evemon is invaluable for planning your skills progression.  I also recommend Eve Fitting Tool (EFT) to play around with ship fittings offline and get the most bang for your ISK.

    • Unless you want to be a Corporate Butt-Monkey..forget this game
    • OP, sorry you had a bad experience but the experiences and impressions of many new players contradicts yours.

Perhaps it would have been better if, rather than going into emo-rage and quitting and trying to warn the world that EVE is EVE, it would have been better if you had either learned from your mistake and tried to do things differently, or asked those with more experience than you how you could have done things differently and avoided your bad experiences.

It's called learning.  Rather than getting all emo when things don't go your way you should try it sometime.

    • A Fresh Start, New Perspective on EVE
    • Hi, welcome to EVE!  More than any other game, EVE has hooked my interest for the long haul!  I hope your experience is similar.

For something very different and a lot of fun, head on over to the EVE-O forum, find the Crime and Punishment section and locate the stories of brand new players who have gone to low sec space and started blowing stuff up.  If you are part of a corp that has no objection to this sort of behavior, and you can get low cost or free modules, this is a perfect way to introduce yourself to PvP, one of the things that make EVE such a uniquely enjoyable game.

"It's like playing space war in a jar a Mrs. butterworth's clear baking syrup"

He is talking about the fact that if you stop your engines in space, you don't actually stop moving (or slow down) you MAINTAIN your speed and momentum. In order to slow down you'd have to have reverse thrusters or turn the ship and apply thrust. Turning doesn't happen like planes do, I'm sorry if you thought it did from watching Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica (where they added 'control surfaces' to make people identify more with the ships). Changing direction in space comes from turning the ship around it's axis and apply power and THEN you'll see a change in vector.

Some older games played this way, also some people would LOVE to play a space game that behaved like that. THAT is what he's talking about, not about dumb crap like explosion radius or tracking, those are game mechanics. He's talking about the lack of RL physics when it comes to propulsion.

Can you comprehend this now or will you reply again showing you can't grasp logic?

It is because this is a pretty good description of how navigation in space really works that I would hate to have to deal with it to pilot a ship.  Adding this level of detail would destroy EVE PvP.   If they added orbital physics (and if we're going for realism, why not?) it would be even worse!

I am perfectly happy with the Mrs. Buttersworth physics we have now as it allows me to focus on combat over navigation.

      Thanks CCP!
