  • Bria is one of the oldest, and was the most populated server when I played...  The reason I chose it to begin with.

    I did it....  in a moment of weakness....   I did it...

    last night I couldn't sleep...

    I googled "Download free trial...."  and installed the game...

    I signed in with my old avi....just like nothing had changed...

    Here is what I found :

    On Bria.

    I last logged on Rori, in Concordia (My old guild city, which still has a shuttle port lol)  My house was gone (but I gave it away before I left anyway so prolly got packed up)

    It took me ten min to figure out how to move with that funky cross haired chase camera...i tried to change keymap to "Classic" but it did absolutely nothing to improve the game movement... I finally figured out that I had to press escape if i wanted any menu to pop up for options.  I then called my barc and forgot how to store it...  took me another ten min to learn that I had to click on it's tag at top of screen rather than old days just radial it with a right mouse click...  no big deal there...  Again, movement was a disaster...to target anything I had to cross hair it..wtf?  my mouse was not free. and despite unchecking the chase camera option, as soon as i shuttle to another place it was re-enabled.  crap in my opinion...

    My friend's list had one person on it. 

    I figured I'd check the old hubs....  Eisley (there were about 25 ppl there...more than half AFK, but there were ppl there...  (about 1/8th what it used to be on any given time frame....even  at 4 am)

    I went to theed...found 1 person in the cantina afk.

    I went to bed...and beat myself up for thinking anything of that game was left for me.

    I swear it was a very emotional time for me....I was sighing and hoping I'd see someone, or something that tied me to the past....of all the ppl I did see, 90% approx were using the "randomly generated name" for their avi...wtf?  Opael Regaletto..or some such...  I saw one person with a real name they created...afk.

    I decided to go back to my old guild city....flew to Narmle (which is FAR from my guild city on Rori, but thought I'd use the drive time to see the old planet....  It took me ten min to barc out there...and it was dead...ghost town after ghost town...I saw none.  Now...Rori was the LEAST popular planet on Bria, but we had many many times of 2 full (8 person) groups going mission term around various cities there...other cities nearby had a good trade system going and we even talked of merging cities a few times...dead.

    My email just had unending "guild memeber left" in it...

    I logged off....mad at myself for putting myself through that...

    I need a pill.

    p.s. No, I didn't try the combat at all....I didn't have any intention of combat...my character was a politician, a musician, and droid engineer .....  My pre jedi guy did the combat, but the jedi did nothing for me...so he just walked around looking cool with a saber in his hand. 

    made me sad.  

    I will say this...  The game's graphics are really looking dated to me now...  I play AoC currently and the detail is not comparable any more....SWG needs a new graphics engine bad...it's looking sickly..even with all settings maxxed.

    I never got caught up in the Reubenfield part....  But had I read that I'd be even MORE pissed than I still am after all this time.... 

    Let's make sure he never works in an MMO again eh guys?

    I've heard alot of ppl say the starter quests are pretty decent ......  when I started swg, I landed on Tatooine lost in a hustle and bustle....

    "you will never find a more retched hive of scum and villiany...."..... that's EXACTLY how it felt then...

    I swear It was 6 months before I ever left tat for another planet....no joke.   That planet alone ...if there was no other planet in swg....would still have been better than anything in wow and all it's contintents...

    I quite 2 days after NGE....when lairs went absolutely insane crazy running around like chaos idiots....lol...what a joke.

  • Don't forget when Torres went on Attack of the show and both him and host had a good laugh at all of us vets....   Infuriating was a polite word for it.
