I'm not going to sit here and say one is better than the other. It will always come down to personal preferance and playstyle.
What I can suggest you consider, is that WoW at heart will always be a PvE game. It was designed that way and it is balanced that way.
WAR is at heart a RvR game (fancy phrase for PvP). It was designed that way and it is balanced that way.
Instances have been around LONG before WoW. The Realm Online had instances in it, that was in the mid 90's. 'Raids' are nothing new as well. It just seems like WoW was the first one to give you UI interfacing and control with your large group.
HG:L is okay. It follows the same randomness in drops. Levels are (semi)random. Its in no way an MMO, even then its listed here and marketed as such.
It has its ups and downs, just like any game. I resubscribed yesterday so I could restart on Hardcore Elite. Hit level 10 with my summoner in 4 1/2 hours. Too slow for the achievement :( .
Have yet to spend a single point or pay for a single skill. Its even more equipment based than D2. Regular mode takes no skill at all. Hardcore Elite though, you are in for a rush. And severe disappointment when you die.
I remember seeing this on a couple of games but I dont remember which. It this -is- something that is in a game, it -must- be restricted to only speaking with guild members. Otherwise it is much easier to script bots that can get really annoying, really fast.
