• • So I did some investigating....

  •   Hmmmm ...... it seems to me what is needed here is some tangible information.  Tangible information ....... that's an oxymoron isn't it?  Regardless ....... what's needed is a man in the field to check things out and report back here.  Report back to this thread directly as soon as something concrete is acquired.

      Now, out of the shear goodness of my heart, I just might be able to take some time off of work to help everyone out.   As this would benefit the MMO community as a whole I'm encouraging everyone to show support in the form of plane tickets and living expenses.  You must realize the amount of time and effort that would go into something like this ....... it could take weeks ........ perhaps months.  Your donations should reflect that.

      Currently setting up a Paypal account and will relay the info as soon as possible.  Oh ........ I'm also gonna need this too.

    And lets make one thing sure.  The closed beta testers did GREAT JOB.  Again and again those testers are beeing blamed for the state of the game at launch.  And guess what... FUncom is not correcting that.  

     

    Hey, I was a closed beta tester.

    It's not my fault ....... really .........it's not my fault.

    I just can't believe how many beta testers bought this game ......... boggles my mind it does.

  •   That would be developer math ....... any number that might benefit a company is to include a multiplier.  Typically the number is around 50, 60 in this case if I'm not mistaken.  They use it for things like current subscribers, box sales, profits, peeps that signed up for whatever ......etc. 

      The opposite also applies in the negative direction.  Cancellations, customer complaints, bad reviews ...etc.  These would be divided by the said number and then posted as fact.

      Been doing it for years .....

  •   Well, it is certainly is going to be a colorful game.  Lots of bright blue, green and pink effects going on there.  As I recall , in another video I saw colorful trails coming off a sword or ax a guy was swinging.  Really puts me in mind of an korean F2P game with all the bright colorful effects.

      Meh, I'm sure it can be turned off in the settings.

    P.S.S. AoC has one major advantage over war, its releasing for the xbox360 too about the same time WAR is releasing (i think it might have been january 2009 either that or september 2008)

     

      What about all the people that in an absolute state of disgust because of the things that were already promised?  Perhaps some of those people wouldn't spit on a Funcom product much less purchase another or give released one a second chance.

      Just a thought .......

    P.S.  At this point WAR isn't AoC's major competition.  That would be any MMO released within the last 10 years that has something resembling depth to it.  That and the MMOs that  people are going "Back" to after purchasing AoC.

    P.P.S  Time will tell with WAR ...... at this point it's just another MMO full of promises.  We can just hope it's not one that will put another dent in the genera.

    P.P.P.S.  AoC does have really decent art style to it.  Saw a video of WAR recently and all I can say is ..... WoW ..... no really ....... WoW!

    P.P.P.P.S  I truly do hope Funcom wakes up.
