    • Scenario's are killing this game..
    • Many of us closed beta testers tried to warn them about the concerns with scenarios and how it changes the interaction of the community and world feel for the game as a whole.  It definatley takes away from the MMO feeling when scenarios overshadow the rest of the game.

      WAR (Warhammer Online)
    • WAR is fun, WoW is not, and why did Vanguard suck?

If you have ever played City of Heroes grouping isn't forced.

But the level of communication from other players in that game is rather high and why it is highly regarded for its community in the MMORPG world.

So it is possible to have an MMORPG where communication and community is an important part of play without the hardcore elements.

Vanguard, I kept wandering around hoping it was going to get fun, but it never did. Vanguard had a big world, but it wasn't really fun to wander around in it.

Now, WAR vs WoW is easy. WoW is a solo game. WAR is not. The grouping dynamic, the most important feature in an MMO for me, is better in WAR than in WoW.

Not only that, but you want to group in WAR, so you can do RvR content. Groups work together better than solo players, and a bunch of solo players running around will get wrecked by a good group in the scenarios, or the open world RvR.

That's waht makes all the difference to me.

You like solo games? Go play WoW. You like good groups? WAR is a fun game.

Yes, I know WoW changes to  a group game in the end, when you do raiding, but raiding has never been my thing, so that doesn't cut it.

Not only that, but the way WAR works, you can fight in Scenarios the first time you play, and you don't have to wait for the "end game" which is really cool.

Given the level of communication one would encounter that is not an NPC is rather low in WAR one could make the argument that it is a lot like a solo game.

    • Mark Jacobs blog on the GOA issues....
    • Any professional in the gaming world that lets what is said on the internet bother them then they might as well retire.   As for Mark Jacobs any time there is a hint of criticism directed his way he crumbles like a house of cards.

As for the GOA issues I feel for the European gamers and sadly I do not see the situation improving.
