Yeah, that wasn't a swipe at their current publisher, was it? lol. Sounds like there is some bitterness there. Anyhow, I beta tested FoM way back when, and I wasn't too eager to play it when I saw what it was. It seemed to not really have a nitch.
Best of luck to these guys, MMOs really are the future and now of gaming, I hope to see them pull away from this with the knowledge they need to complete a truly spectacular MMO.

Yep. I'm looking forward to a more gothic fantasy feel finally in wow. Also can't wait to see the graphical enhancements planned that were mentioned in another article.
I hope they update the graphics with the lich king, while they are still decent, they are aging.
I have to agree that it would be nice to see things like:
(for the evil cities... chaos)
-impaled bodies of the enemies as a representation of the power of the ruling elite outside the city walls (to scare enemies).
-many more banners
-piles of bones and body parts at "dumping stations" where they get burned periodically (plaguesque)
-packs of dingy dogs that attack anybody, maybe rabid.
-squads of soldiers walking around as a show of force (possibly harrasing citizens at times).
(for the good cities....order)
-villages outside the castle with thatch roofs, chickens here and there.
-Squads of knights on horses parading around the town
-anyhow, I imagine these are still taken at low-resolution, and it is nice of them to continue to put them out, unfortunately, I don't feel like they are building hype any longer, they are just making people worry about how old the graphic technology is.
Graphics aren't the only thing in MMORPGs, so lets hope the rest of it turns out awesome!
To me, this brings up one topic that has nagged me for awhile. I am very active at emailing and calling my representatives when I see something that should or should not go through (at least, that is how I feel about it). Governments in a democratic or open society can only do what their people will allow them to do. Put enough political pressure (ie emails, calls, marches, protests) on an official and they will back down, go forward with, or rethink their strategy (depending on what the masses are saying). It seems that across the globe, people feel disenfranchised.
Speak out when you know something is wrong. Tell your officials you will not tolerate it and ask everyone within earshot to talk to their politicians too.
On another note, I am not sure that I care about in game advertising IF it is on a billboard (as NCSoft suggested with CoH) or blended in with the environment (on a wall, glass, whatever).
I love the idea about PSAs.

shame the graphix suck
I do hope the graphics live up to my thoughts about how they should be in a next generation game as well. I just bought a 22" monitor for my home office, and I would love to see how it performs on Warhammer ![]()
