Even if you need the billing info once you start your 30 days of free play just go back and cancel the subscription and you will not be billed. Other games have done this and I think AoC will be no different.
Hellgate London. I still curse the day I picked that damned thing up from the shelves. A few of my friends were playing it and they were supposedly having fun but for the longest time I refused to buy it. Then for some reason I just went and spent $60 on it, the worst $60 I have ever spent, it still bothers me to this day. It's not like I can take it back or sell it to anybody mostly because nobody wants it.
I think it'll be one of those decent comedy movies. I'll go see it for sure. I could use a good laugh.
If you are making a game with levels what about for instance making the level cap some ridiculous number like say 750. I have no idea where I'm going with this but it would make it so that you have a solid year and a half of leveling before you even get close. The sheer amount of time you need to put in between levels would allow the developers plenty of time to throw in quests they could work on a daily basis. Maybe make the quests evolve as they are completed.
Hang around till release and just give it a week or 2 after release for them to start ironing out some of the wrinkles and I think we'll have a playable game. Not sure how much the debuger affects performance but that will be gone and I've heard that the textures in the game have not been compressed which might be doing something for performance as well. It's what I plan to do. I'm in the process of building a new comp.. I need to upgrade anyways so when I finish that I'll give AoC a try.
Are you still playing (or subscribed to) your first MMO?
