| Biography | First starting playing MMO''s back when I was 13, UO was my favorite game for a long time. Moved on to EQ, DAoC, FFXI, WoW, Shadowbane, and a host of other game. Still looking for the next fix. |

this game seriously looks like WoW 2 everything from those videos reminds me of WoW. the combat looks very boring too. I am not interested in this game at all now
Your right if by WoW 2 you mean "The next stage in MMO development"
I don't see any Neon Green or Neon Purple or Goofy looking elves with floppy ears or Orcs that look like they came out of a comic book.
Sorry I've played my fair share of games, Almost every MMO is copying off either Diablo or Everquest's interface.
Honestly, how would you the players make a UI thats better?
OH WAIT YOU CAN! MOD IT!
duh... its just a UI...
As for classes, totally different from the generic ones WoW has. Colors and graphic design this game is much more realistic feeling. Oh and getting Exp for killing people PvP! Fun!
And WoW didn't invent instances, DAoC had them and so did AO.
I like how you are trying to prove my opinions wrong. the overall feeling i got from those videos is that it looks like the WoW sequal and not the next stage in mmo developement. nothing in that game screams that. I played WoW for 2 years and I dont want to play that game or any game that reminds me of it
Its obvious you played wow for 2 years.
The first thing you compare this game to is WoW. Which is probably the only MMO you've played. You relate to what you know.
When I look at warhammer I see elements of many games in it.
Which is also what I see when I look at WoW.
I started playing mmos since EQ. let me dumb this down for you it looks to me like they took a game copy of WoW and just upgraded the graphics. that is my opinion fanboy. no one said you had to like it but your not gonna change it so get over it
Hehe your the first person to ever call me a Fanboi.
Nice one!
um... I'm not really a fan of this game I just hate it when people ignorantly compare a game to another game when they have no experience.
You claim to have played EQ, well if you had you would notice how much WoW took from that game.
Its human nature to put together ideas to make something new, your just plain silly to say that this game only has one influence.
The fact that "it looks to me like they took a game copy of WoW and just upgraded the graphics." Just proves that you really have played WoW too long, sorry get out of your niche and play some other games.
Also I'm confused as to what you want me to get over?

The mini map looks A LOT like the one from Ultima Online... hehe
Your extremely opinionated and slanted view on this subject is obviously less education and more just blatant venting your frustration.
Its ok, we all really want DF to come out, I'm sure you were one of the people who really wanted it like oh five years ago and now your just super pissed and feel like they owe you something.
which is just plain silly.

I have the same problem.
I loved EQ, but it outgrew me. It turned into a raiding game, a very boring raiding game,
I absolutely loved DAoC. In the beginning there were only Dragon raids(I joined after SI). DRs had little impact on the game. It was a game were you could casually enjoy, and advance forever. Heck, you could even go on a DR at anytime. Of course ToA came out, and turned it into a raiding game. Next N,F which killed the casual tank players. Then their absurd expansions which introduced OPed classes in every single x-pac.
COH. Very repetitive, Was well worth the free month, though.
I tried out EQ2. Too lifeless.
I tried WoW. I really enjoyed it, but I know it was a raid grind game. I hoped I could stay in the lower lvls and enjoy BGs. While the end game kept getting updated they never updated the other parts of the game. Boredom sent in, and I quit.
EVE. Boring PVE, slow paced, and a horrible skill system.
LOTRO. If you thought MMOs couldn't get any easier than WOW LOTRO proved us wrong. No sense of accomplishment. Group quest in a solo game? How's that work?
DDO. Fail.
Vanguard. A decent game, but their horrible launch killed them. The servers are ghost towns, as of last month. I probably would have really enjoyed this game if other people played.
AOC. Maybe in 3 or 4 moths it will be a fun game, but by then WAR will be out.
WAR. Probably my last hope before I hang it up on the MMO market.
I've been chasing that feeling that early EQ and DAoC give me for darn near 5 years now. I went back to those games occasionally. Stuck with DAoC for quit some time even mustering through ToA, and tried out the classic servers for a few months. I became a raider in EQ for a few months time. It seems any MMO I enjoy tried to change their direction, and has paid the price in subscriptions. I just can't find a game where a casual player is rewarded as much as a raider is. My time is just as important. I refuse to get second rate gear, because they had more people in their "group". WAR is my last hope. Maybe I'm just getting too old for games now. I dunno, but I'm done rambling.
I've had a very similar experience in my time gaming. However I started off with UO and did some time with FFXI in there too.
I'm really looking forward to War, hoping that if Mythic focus's their efforts on an established IP they can't make ex packs that unbalance the game.
Also, if Darkfall actually comes out this year I'd love to give that a play through, and if its anything even close to what they promise...
And t heres a few other rare gems I hear people talk about, and Mythos looks cool even though its a free mmo.
A lot of people started with UO, but my first experience was actually with Final Fantasy online. Back then, I thought FFXI was some awesome stuff.
I'm looking forward to War, but I have a big feeling that so many of us are putting such a hype into it that it won't be half as good as we were expecting. Which means us "wanderers" waiting for the next big thing will only be left to continue wandering. Lets hope not.
My main joy is they're offering PvP Experience. Which is unique, I'm not just in it for the PvP (RvR) either, I like how the quests tie into the story, even if its buggy and it doesn't work right at first these ideas are what I like and as long as they keep in PvP exp and a form of looting (even if its not the players items) then I'll be happy. I always thought it was dumb that you couldn't get exp off a player, they are much harder to kill. In a game like War where everything is about killing other players it only makes sense you would get exp from it.
I agree though, we may be getting too excited, but hey theres always Darkfall, Champions Online, StarGate, Star Trek, Star Wars, and a slew of other interesting titles coming to the MMO genre very soon for us to go nuts over.
I just saw Mythos for the first time today, I'm impressed for a f2p game. Any other gems I may have missed recently that are forth coming?
