These forums are complete garbage. The vast majority of posts here are people bashing games they have never played, or people that played for an hour then whine. Back in the day when this site started, it could be useful as a place to get information on games. That is definitely not the case now. You could have the greatest MMO ever created, and 99% of the posts would seemingly come from people who registered for the sole purpose of bashing that game.
As someone who has played almost every major mmo to hit the market since UO (and who has a level 80 char in AoC), I can safely say this is a great game.
There are bugs, and there are some things that need to be implemented, but as an MMO that has just started, it's certainly one of the best launches I've played. It has the potential to really be a long term competitor in the market.
The only real complaints I have are 1) In large groups characters tend to blink on and off your screen at close range (hopefully will be fixed soon) and 2) I could do with less zoning, but it's not a game breaker. Most of the other stuff is minor or is already in the process of being fixed. They seem to release a new patch every few days.
I logged into the server the nanosecond that it was supposed to be up. Needless to say it didn't work. I spent all morning preparing hotpockets and putting in my catheter. This is an outrage! How can Funcom just decide to delay the opening 3 hours??? What do they expect me to do, go outside?? The world is going to end and it's all Funcom's fault. I hope they're happy because I'm not. That's offensive tackle #1. Twenty more and I'm going to record a demerit for Funcom. Thirty of those and I'm going to consider writing a nasty letter to Norway. I'm sorry if this is ranting but we can't let gaming companies get away with this!
Would you rather see a game release pushed back a year or have the game release witha few bugs that will be fixed?
