You ever play a MMO that was developed for a console? Try out FF if you havn't. First trying playing it on a PC with keyboard and mouse then try with a controller. You'll be amazed at how well a mmo will work on a controller.
MMOs on consoles make them that much more accessible.
Saying they won't work makes you sound uninformed.
Ahh Yes, Another person thinking I would voice my opinion without trying one. In fact I have played FF, it was fare to simplistic and clumsy for my tastes. The PC gives MMO's the ability to become far more complex and user friendly. Theres just no way that a xbox/ps3 can compete with the mouse/keyboard combination. I can say that I will never play any MMO released for any console, as I refuse to throw my money in the toilet by buying an console platfom, that I will have to throw away 2 years later when I want to upgrade to the "new" console. It just doesn't makes sense to spend 600$ when you can buy a decent gaming PC for that price.

The gaming industry is about $218 million dollars. Of that, around $17.7million accounts for PC multiplayer online games. The rest of the money goes to console games. A large percentage of gaming companies, like Lucas Arts, are focusing on developing console games more than PC games.
Reasons why are, consoles are cheaper and easier to update than gaming computers. Consoles, like PS 3 now come with DvD Blue Ray discs which add a new new high graphic content to console games. Consoles attach to you hi def TV and with surround sound make for an awesome gaming environment.
I was a hard core PC online gamer, but having just bought a PS 3, I am convinced this is the future of online gaming. Don't get me wrong, PC games will continue to be around, but more people will continue to buy the $500 gaming console rather than the $4000.00 PC computer.
What aspect of MMORPG's are you more into?
