Thought I would let you know about the great deal on steam this weekend only. No, I don't work for Valve, or CCP, I just thought that maybe this would help someone get the game at a great price (:

On the official EVE site, the game costs $20. On Steam, it normally costs $15, so it's a pretty nice deal for $10.
Don't smoke and post people, this is what'll happen.
You'd think that with all these people strongly opposing item looting, that we were forcing our hardcore rulesets down their throats. How about you guys keep playing the games that already work, while we work on getting some good games developed. Seriously, if you don't want player looting, don't play the damn game that has player looting. If you think what's out now works so well, well then why the hell aren't you playing these games?
I love the replies in this thread. "People don't want to lose their hard earned gear" and others like it... That's why the game is BALANCED on being able to loot other players. Of course you can't take a game like WoW and put full character looting on it, the gear in that game IS the game.
These arguments are all terrible. Obviously the game would be balanced around the item looting. Of course gear would have to be easily obtainable if you're able to lose it if you're ganked. Also, how about different kinds of item looting? Maybe you'd be able to keep the gear you have, but you lose all of your crafting materials. It annoys me how so many people just say "item looting? NO, I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY PRECIOUS GEAR THAT I SPENT MONTHS RAIDING TO OBTAIN". That's just the thing, the game wouldn't even have that gear in the first place.
Don't brush off RS and EVE just because they aren't as big as WoW. It doesn't mean people don't want item looting, they just haven't played a game where it's properly balanced.
I've never had a problem with the classes in games. There are other things I'd like to see changed first before we go and change classes.
In your opinion, what kind of gamer are you?
