Oh I'm sorry no let me clarify every individual weapon out there, crafted and dropped doesn't have its own unique animation (like most other games do right?).
Weapon types have unique animations, there are animations for daggers, focus, axes, hammers, swords, (short swords are different from long swords), spears, great axes, great swords, staff, bladed staff, martial sword, hand to hand weapons, and ranged weapons. Oh and with shuriken and bows you can actually see the projectile unlike other games where you have a simple animation.
I'm not sure on the number but each class has various combat animations from abilities in addition to several auto attack and intermediate animations.
Anyways they are redoing character models in the next update and will likely have to tweak animations for that, so what you see in game (while I have no problem with it) is only temporary.
Vanguard is 20gb, they have to release a trial island simply because not too many people would sit through the download, and while I welcome new players I'd rather not have them running all over the place clogging up ooc and acting like morons and generally ruining my good time which is what you get with "standard".
I'd like to see vanguard get a few thousand more subscribers and get some more money for the team, but there is a large portion of the mmo population I could do without and am glad to have refuge from in Vanguard.
Maybe the fact we don't have a free trial is the reason we don't have too many of those people, if so it is one of if not the best part of the game.
No two weapons have the same animation, and the animations in game are certainly not "slash"
As for conan's "kill shots" I for one am glad, once you see it a thousand times it is just as boring with the added bonus of being tacky on top of it.
Oh and you can twirl swords/ any one handed weapon, monks can twirl their staff, and abilities have unique animations.
I wonder if many of the people who post here actually played the game.

No, I don't think you understand they will still be useable. They will still top dps charts, I don't think any of you understand just how enormous of a bug it is and how incredibly overpowered it makes monks and rogues right now.
Monks and rogues are the two dps classes that are going to be most effected, but they will still be the top dps classes (they are pure dps classes not utility hybrids). Their play style is not going to change, it is a bug fix that means they won't be the only option for real dps and other classes can participate in burn fights as well, but they still still be wanted for the same reasons they are now. Mainly for dps.
After all monk and rogue burst damage is only needed for a small handful of fights where you have to burn the boss down in a certain amount of time, so its not like they are going from absolutely necessary to unwanted they are going to be as just as wanted as other pure dps classes (like sorc, necro, and ranger). Plus both have wipe recovery ability and hate transfer (which hopefully will get a look to make it more useful) as secondary utilities they can bring to a raid.
I'd say only bad monks and rogues have something to worry about, but the fact that they are bad means they obviously don't stack (an ungeared monk that stacks right can still out dps most other classes with gear) so the truth is they won't notice the change at all.

In your opinion, what kind of gamer are you?
