Gee, thanks pal. Try that line out on the next girl you wish to date--I'm sure she'll be charmed.
Yes, I started with WoW. It was my introduction to the world of gaming. When I was studying computer animation, I watched the guys in the lab playing the beta and it looked like fun. The thing however the tipped me to actually try out the game was how Blizzard ended the beta. If anyone remembers that far back, rather than simply post a message saying "Our beta testing period is now over", the developers simply let loose hordes of impossible-to-kill creatures into the world and let the mayhem ensue. We sat in the lab just laughing our asses off as we watched players feebly attempt to band together to try and take these things down.
In short... WoW has a sense of humour. It's a GAME and it knows it.
As a CG junkie, I have been trying to find other MMORG games with better graphics to get into, but I always end up going back to WoW for the simple reason that, unlike much of its competition, it doesn't have a big ol' stick up its butt.
If that makes it accessible... if that makes it "carebear"... fine and dandy with me. Please point me to other games that aren't going to treat us evidently *inferior* female players like dirt.

Only in respect to how buggy it will be at release.
At very least Vanguard offers a huge gameworld with housing etc, 15 complex and interesting classes, 19 races, and a lot of other options (Crafting, Harvesting, Diplomacy), etc.
While AoC, for example, has 3 races. Should I now laugh or weep ? The HUGE original setting that Conan would have offered to a developer with the smallest sense for storytelling and roleplay dumbed down to THREE RACES ?? Ouch. Just OUCH.
huh.. Vanguard is a Fantasy Tolkian Game.. no wonder why they got 19 races... AOC is more like an Historic Game... don't expect any Elf in there.. there is just Humans... AOC got too.. Crafting, Harvesting.. Diplomacy? i don't think so... you can build building.... Housing then?.. for now you can't compare very well.. since you never played it..
would be better without Quest (Freedom),
Pokeball a bit rare or just make a pokemon capture skill (like 1% chance to catch a certain pokemon at a certain level) because it's boring when everyone have the same pokemon as you....
as another guy said... Gym are owned by guild(better to name the guild like as Gym leaders) and others as a group...
No GRINDING(well a bit... but most not be essential.. Like more XP for your pokemon when dueling another player)...
finding rare pokemon and item.. for the fun of exploring.. and less pokemon spawn density..
Crafting pokeballs, items etc... then sell it to other players... to add an Economy side to the game...
for duels.. you add a bet (money, item or even pokemon) no balance on duel.. and no lvl display ( make the duel more exiting) the only think that will be balanced is the betting and XP increase + you lose XP when losing from a low level player (some would exploit it if there wasn't any XP losing)... enough to make a duel against a low level player boring and useless
Leagues... Gym leaders can make small Leagues, tournament for players of Low, mid, high lvl... then a Big league, tournament of 3 ladders.. Low, mid, high lvl players .... Prices... Money, items and pokemon.. (rare for high leveled players)
and some features.. maybe Mining, collecting some weird stuff in trees to make pokeballs.. and collecting herb and fruit... for medicine....
not oblivion but use the same Game engine as Morrowind
