Lol, good saying, you're only a victim though if you let the title victimize you.

      World of Warcraft
    • Ridiculous System Requirements
    • I have:

      AMD 3700+
      ATI Radeon X1900XT
      2 Gigs of Ram
      2 160 GB Sata in Raid 0

This game stuttered worse than me at a British teapot convention. I suppose I exaggerated a bit, it was completely playable but after the initial first world, it all fell apart. I plan on getting a new system soon, then might drop by but I'm really tempted to start WoW up again. Heck, I don't even like quests on MMO's all I tend to do is farm items and show and share them to my guild mates.

In TR my best time was defeating wave after wave of enemies at the bases that would get attacked, needless to say my system stuttered. And the ammo for the machine gun was consumed too quickly, I'm a bit trigger happy. Too bad though, but truthfully if you really love a game you wouldn't let system requirements stop you. 600x800 is good enough for me if the game is fun enough.

    • TR in the $10 bin at EB=OUCH!
    • I think DG should start to worry when they start giving it away. I remember a few years ago where the EB Games Manager was giving copies of Auto Assault away with any purchase, he was a stand up guy but he said they wanted to get rid of them.

So the next time lets say, you buy a copy of Cossacks II Battle for Europe for 19.99, and the sales associate tells you to take a copy of Tabula Rasa for free, then you start worrying. Then again, they where selling copies of EQ2 at that time for 2.99, so it may not amount as much. And perhaps they may have been overstock.

    • requires $2k computer? I think not.
    • If all a user needed was a tower, then yes, this is accurate. However, for a user who requires a full solution there are other costs as well. This includes an operating system capable of running Conan, and quality input devices. I'm sure a monitor is necessary as well, and a good 22" can run around $200-350 by itself.

More than likely you can add at least $600 for the aforementioned device and necessary software, and this doesn't include the shipping at the time element of putting it together.

Truthfully, for me, it looks more lucrative to buy an XBox 360 and a HDMI LCDTV/Monitor. Then again it wouldn't be the same, and not as fun.

My mate really pissed off that some noob had taken his ore just to gank him, then we came and attacked him, it worked out he had a really expencive assualt ship and stopped him from warping, my mate eventually warped as we knew we stood no chance, i did the same. Very annoyed so we said wat happened to our corp and one of them said he'd check it out and take him out he said he did, so I thought I'd check it out, as soon as i went back into the area that guy unleashed everything he had at me, stopped me warping and blew my ship up in about 6 shots. This, I don't feel fun at all, yes i insured it but the fact I just came into the belt, didn't attack him and he just flew me up without me even attacking him is a bit...gay.

      sbanting,

The player who did that to your friend has received what he deserved, not withstanding that everyone who witnessed the event and your corpmates know of him, then it would only serve to gain him more enemies. Also, the fact he wasted his time doing that to someone of notably lesser experience works against him. What did he gain from it? Some ore, that from the description of it is relatively invaluable, or maybe the pleasure of attacking someone weaker than himself. The latter is a vice, and the act will do nothing for him when he combats a peer of equal caliber.

Now let's take a look at what you and friend has gained. You engaged in gang warfare, and managed to survive a battle against someone stronger than yourself. In the end, you've lost some isk. Isk can always be made back, but good experience is hard to find and will be useful for you and your friend in the future.

Looks to me mate, you've come out on top.

Much of what I said I learned from Emerson's essay on Compensation. You can find it here, and take from it what is right for you. An audio version is here if that more to your taste. Hang in there.
