I've seen some various posts about PvP and I've noticed that ppl have different impressions about PvP.
In my book, GW has the type of proper PvP which is fair and demands more from the player not from the character.
Then there are games that have servers (or areas) which allow ppl to kill each other freely while the real focus lies in PvE. You hunt for the little guy. And you do it because you can! I call it GANK or PK. Eve and similar games are something in between but more to the latter.
People call both features PvP. We should define our terms a little better. Any suggestions? Or am I completely wrong?

I don't see If enough people will follow your suggestions. And even If people follow your suggestions anything will change.
And anyway, this is a MMORPG forum. You can't decide if a MMO is good playing the trial. You can't see if a game as EndGame based on a trial.
Dude. Is it worth grinding a crappy game for countless hours just to see how good the endgame is? -No
Trials are good and they work. If the game fails to hook me within the first few days, it's not my failure - it's the game's failure. I can't possibly like any game, can I?
Money is the key to this. Maybe we should put some money together and give it to some promising developers with a message: "Don't publish until its ready!"

A PVP system that promoted active PVPing for those that wanted it and disciplined those that "picked on" lower lvl characters. Again with the combat system I purposed would help here greatly.
This is NOT proper PvP. What you describe is PKing. Proper PvP would be with equal characters - like in GW. No wonder people don't like PvP.
Otherwise I do agree with you. I too would like to see a game with story and characters like in Mass Effect, the feel like in ES3: Morrowind or the battles like in Mount & Blade (Google it. Best 16$ I've spent in my life). Problem is: it's never going to happen!
You have to do with what you get - like the rest of us.

Ah, a new recruit for the rebellion. Join us Yunbei. Some of us have been fighting against this design philosophy since the days of EQ 1. Of course, all you can do is make a little noise once in a while to let developers know that there are people out there who refuse to put up with that crap. Also, don't buy games that devolve into raid grinds at the end.
But, you know, some sort of grinding is probably unavoidable in a progression game. The important thing is whether or not the form the grinding takes is entertaining or just mind numbingly boring. If you have fun doing it it doesn't feel so much like grinding. But raiding...raiding is just painfully un-fun.

So true. And I'd like to join the rebellion aswell. I refuse to play these kind of games. People are not robots! Most of us anyway... I hope.
