    • Impressions after 5 years away...
    • I tried to play but I just don't think its in me to play Everquest 1 again. It was fun to log on and see my characters again but it feels like walking into the old house you grew up in only to find it empty and under differerent ownership.

The concept of EQ was great but in some ways teh game is a victim of how trivial they make prior expansions with each successive one.

Its a big huge wide world full of fond memories for me....I don't know why but it depresses me to walk around the world that was once full of folks in various zones only to see them long barren and vacant.

glad you guys are having fun, ill keep looking for the vets feedback.

    • I couldnt be bothered to read all 9 pages that have come before this.  I can only imagine its the typical agruments.

I agree with Lobo - we thought gen 2 was going to be good then eq2 launched as crap. WoW wiped the floor with them and the rest is history.  Now the standard for mmo gaming is defined in World of Warcrapft.

I think the "problem" is devs want to make the most money they can off of a game (go figure).  The majority of the world wants Macdonalds fast, they want 5 billion channels and a cartoon mmo where you run around the world like you're on rails.

I don't expect anything from this genre anymore - not after Vanugard tanked at launch.  There is no more virtual worlds only dumbed down EQ clone after eq clone.  I've given up long ago and I've certainly given up on the notion that the next gen will have a niche game for me.

If you look at pc gaming in general there hasn't been a new game in 10 years.

not sure who needs to do their research here.

Paying via paypal is a great idea -  too bad you can't set up a sub directly from CCP.

After June 15 you will no longer be able to purchase 30 day game time codes so your only option if you want to pay monthly is to pay by credit card or pay by cash.

    • CCP limits payment options with their famous game time cards
    • Since i've been playing Eve online I've been using 30 day game time cards to fuel either one or both of my accounts.  I have always played casually so I normally play 2 accounts for month and put them on the back burner if need be.

      Dear CCP,

Asking players to play 60$ at a time if they want two characters is insane. Honestly, what are you smoking? Have you no idea how many players you have playing with GTC?

I was on your site today considering re-subbing but I have my doubts now. I realize its the same amount of money but its double the money up front and its generally a bad decision.

If you're loosing money on the dollar then raise prices or something but limiting payment options in an era where players are looking for more payment options is silly.

Maybe you should just get set up for pay pal - that would be awesome.

    • Unoffical Return to EQ Poll
    • From my experience there are going to be tonns of feedback replies on people's experience with their return to eq over the next month or so.

I'm desperately curious because I'm so bored with games now.....I can see a return to Everquest for me, possibly.

Lets try to put a bunch of feedback together in a single poll to send SOE the message, good or bad. Why? because I think it would be neat :)

Imagine youre sitting at your computer and you get an email and the email says "here's some free eq" do you take them up on their offer?

I think if this works I should get a free tshirt from SOE or something :P  and no im not a viral marketer lmao
