    • MMO wife and I can play together
    • As a game wife, I'd like to try to help, but I seem to be an odd woman to begin with. I didn't even know what an MMO was until I met my husband, and he was just out of beta for Dark Age of Camelot in 2002. Being a medieval reenactor/live steel combatant, I took to this game easily. Our kids grew up with this and they love it as much as we do. But times have changed and the community turned from "hey, do you guys want to group again?" to "sure, dude... all the guys call their bot 'wife'..." Anyway... there were a few games we tried that were "cute." Rose I think was one of them, and that was a skill/level system if I remember. There was one where you could fish and hold hands and stuff, can't remember the name of that one. Rubies of Eventide was pretty cute, but I'm not sure if that's still around. We even played Matrix which he loved, but me not so much and it's kind of an altered reality. He also likes Voyage Century and I had fun sailing my ship around exploring the map. Back then there was only a handful of games to choose from, and now there are just too many to decide, and many are the same thing with a different name. Good luck in your search

    • pvp game with stealth class/habilities
    • The one game I can think of that has stealth abilities is Dark Age of Camelot.  There's lots of PvP and you can start as soon as you want since there are training areas based on level range from 1 all the way to 49, with no limit to how many players can be there.  There's even (or used to be?) a PvP server.  There are a total of 7 or so different classes with stealth abilities and they are pretty unique.  This game has been around for about 6 years but has had a graphics revamp and looks beautiful for it's grand old age.  It was the best in it's day and seems to be coming back to it's own again.

      Good luck! :)

    • Tired of the firmiluar
    • Someone wise once told me MMO's are in a recession.  It took me a second, but I completely understood.  Years ago when there were only a handfull of games, that was it.  Everyone played what they liked, and some had maybe 2 games they played all the time.  Then one day... BAM!  Games started coming out of the cracks and out of the toilet.  Since then, it hasn't felt the same.  At all...

Now there are so many games, people are scattered all over the place and I haven't found a decent comminity since the boom.  I'm holding out for the new ones and looking for something to pass the time until then, but there's nothing I've found yet that can hold my attention like my first game, Dark Age of Camelot.  I don't even know how much the new games will change this recession, because deep down I feel like that time has come and gone and it's too late to get back.

I've spent the last few weeks going down the list and trying every game.  I can't really suggest something that might help you if you're feeling the way I am.  I'm not ready to give up and turn away from MMO's forever, but I can't help but wonder if there will ever be another game that "does it for me."

But... someone put up the mmo finder thing where you can select what you like in a game and it suggests games based on that, or you can find out what players of a certain game are playing now.  If I can find it, I'll put it up for you.

Good luck in your quest :)

    • Help T_T
    • There are only two games I've ever had long lasting memories from.  I've kept screen shots even still to this day and look back and still feel what I did then.  One was of course SWG, which I played for a while before the CU and the NGE, then just gave up.  I even went back after the CU and figured it wasn't so bad, I could live with it... then... well, everyone knows the rest :(

My first MMO ever was Dark Age of Camelot.  I've been playing that going on 6 years now.  It will always be my favorite, even though it has changed a lot over the years.  I have so many good memories, like bringing down a server on a relic raid because there were just too many people.  That was only about a year ago and It reminded me of the good old days when there were so many people in RvR you had to deal with the fps or just stare at the ground and hope for the best.

I had fun palying Horizons too, but I didn't stay there more than a year because there was no PvP and sometimes I just need to kill someone.

Now... I'm waiting for AoC I think... but part of me just wants to turn back time and relive the glory days...
