Yeah, I've read Solomon Kane comics as a kid (Marvel I believe) and that's pretty much it... Witch Hunter is modeled quite a bit on protestant witch hunter fanatics from the 17th century...
This isn't surprising since the Empire from Warhammer is almost completely based on The Holy Roman Empire (basically Germany) from the reformation wars in 16-hundreds... which is incidentally the time and space Solomon Kane operates in.
Cheers!
Awesome, thanks! Sounds like a class I might enjoy playing.
The outfit, with pistol and sword look a lot like the REH character of Solomon Kane. I know next to nothing about this game which is why I'm asking. If anyone is familiar with the Solomon Kane stories and the Witch Hunter is there a close comparison?
I have yet to read any Solomon Kane stories. I ordered a book today on Solomon Kane after finishing a book about REH.
This game is looking pretty good the more I read up on it.
DR is my side game. When I'm pressed for time, just want to have a fun grind or whatever I play DR.
If the battles seem same to you and you want more of a challenge crank of the difficulty of the dungeon off Normal. You get more loot, more exp, at the same time mobs hit harder and seem to be more of them. My highest is 28 and yes it seems to continue however the main bosses of that area are different in the way they fight and can be killed.
The retail box makes all the difference to me. The bling gnome is probably the reason I continue to play. Not having to go back to town so much is the best and massive timer saver. Plus getting basically two months for free is sweet deal.
I don't know anything about the graphics update, that would be awesome if they did. I love the humor in the game. I don't think I would ever change that.
As for active development, heck yeah. They put them out in what they call chunks, and there has been quite a few of them.
My suggestion, get the retail box and play the game on the side from your main mmorpg or when you don't have a lot of time. That's six months of a sub for cheap! I found it cheapest at gogamer.com and use dirt cheap shipping to save even more.
Is your guild very active? If not, with your playtime you might consider joining a very active guild that has a lot of people on. Maybe that will help you group with guild members.
Surely if you find a very active guild they will have members with your playstyle. Some guilds just don't do PUGS for various reasons.
Have you posted this on the main forums? You could post this in the main DDO forums in Sarlona section and see what people have to say.
Congrats! I only did Vons a few times. I forget the one with the sonic bridge, something like that, and I remember it killing a few party members.
Well done!
