• • So Why Do So Many Love SWG So Much?

  •     I think it started with the movies, at the time they wwere cutting edge , before computer graphics, and had the classic story line, Good vs Evil and evil being destroied.

      Then the MMo came out and people could be most anything they wanted to be in that universe. Bugs and all it was about the struggle and coming togther as a colective group to do most anything, sure you could solo but not everything. It all has been said about how you had to have things made by artisians and healed by entertainers aswell as Doc/Medics and food and drinks made by Artisians.All this made for a game that had an economy as well as a working community pulling togther as a group . You also had the ability to change skills and not all at one time , you could mix and match to your hearts content , well with'in your total skill points.

       Then the CU and NGE hit and mess-up / taken away most of the fun parts of the game. The parts that made the game adaptable and ever changing to fit your game play style by making professions singular in nature and reducing the total number aswell. The list goes on what it did to the game, the sore spot that killed the game for most of the people playing the game.

       I think that the CU / NGE taking away all that made the game good and playable even with its bugs and balance issues made that game the lagend it is now. The epic failure that LA / $OE engineered to make the game more like WoW and not SWG , The way they lied and missled the paying customers. It was so oppoosite to the Star Wars story that it was DDooooooooMMMed  to fail is an under statement. This is what I think made the game a legend , the epic game the the Evil Sith Lords ran into the ground and then spit on the player base that loved it so.

  •     I can kind of see what the OP is getting at ,about the low end of WoW and people's Computers being able to  run it on them.  Kind of like having pong running on the Comp and asteroids and checking frame rates and ping for each.

        as to the affordability of computers and parts needed to play a said game is all relitive, some will be able to and others will not but that runs into being able to afford to pay for the game aswell and expansions aswell.

      I think that WoW has , in the fact that it is a large and well known MMO, set a standard of a sort. People compair games to it all the time  and it wouldn't be such a large step to use it to compair Comp. Specs. aswell.  I do think your sample is not large enough to be accurate, I think that connection type might be a large reason for playing WoW. It does have low specs in order to play it and both connection speed and the Comp should have been taken into accout when making this poll.

  •    Things like this are all about getting and keeping power. The political parties need a subject to way in front of the people and say " this is bad , we need to do something about it".  Most of the time they just keep on waying it infront of people and never do anything about it , just to keep the problem so they can keep waying it around to say they are the ones to fix it.  It is a typical political tactic , owning the problem and keeping it a problem so that you can say that your party is the right one to fix it .
