WoW has way too many subs to die in any of our lifetimes. However, WAR will probably put a dent in the subs, but nothing too crippling. In fact, I bet a lot of people that play WAR will also play WoW. It'll be interesting to see what happens later this year.
I don't see a SWG 2 happening. However, a KOTOR MMO or Clone Wars MMO might be something that has potential years down the road. At this point there is no hope for a SW MMO in the near future. There is hardly even any gossip let alone any sparks.
On a good note; there will be a great SW game called The Force Unleashed for consoles this Fall. It will be worth playing because it deals with the story line of what happened between episode 3 and 4.
Like you though I'm hoping like hell somebody takes on a new SW MMO.

actually it is exactly the same as the pre CU SWG. all i want is a little advice so i am not making a huge mistake as the grind will no doubt be long (but fun).
Ok... I'll make it more simple.
The crafter build you want, it is not possible.
The 32 professions are gone, 9 classes have been put in their place.
You CAN NOT pick and choose the skills you want any more.
The BH build you want, is possible, but will be gimped so bad, that you can neither PvE nor PvP effectively, as by playing a straight BH build.
Pets are not effective in combat, aside from using them for an AFK xp grind. Against high end PvE targets and other players, they suck.
And the grind, is not fun.
This game is nothing compared to Pre-CU and no one is playing compared to Pre-CU.
Save your money.
Well that about sums it up. What he said;)
I think AoC, while demanding on your system will succeed for the most part. WAR has a strong backbone with the success of DAoC and I doubt it fails by any stretch of the word. I suppose if I had to pick I would say that the expansion for WoW will cause some anger among some WoW vets, but in the end it will succeed because it will make money.
If you are making money then how can you fail in MMOs? Hell even SWG still makes money as rediculous as that is....is it a failure?

Apparently, good people are obey the real life rules but when they came to virtual world, they want revolution, they want to be a outlaw and non-stop to commit crime. If there is gangster online game, I will buy for sure, and doing PVP.
Edit: btw, if someone follow the scenario like Grand Theft Auto to commit a crime, I wonder if the case brought to court, will Rockstar going to compensate the victim? One lawsuit may bite the whole piece away for more than $500 millions dollars.
Legally they are not going to be found liable by any means. They covered their bases and besides this has been tried before and has yet been successful.
Are you still playing (or subscribed to) your first MMO?
