Why don't you? I constantly see you "guaranteeing" Darkfall will do this, Darkfall will do that. You "guarantee" Darkfall beta is coming up. You "guarantee" alot of shit YOU don't know what you're talking about. You know no more than anyone else in this forum. Your little snippets here and there trying to insinuate that you have some sort of secret knowledge about Darkfall and what is happening with it has gone beyond laughable and is now just plain annoying. Not to mention you are THE biggest blind fanboi I've ever seen in this forum section.

At least when I debate with the other fans of Darkfall here, most of them are willing to concede on certain points, and I have conceded on a few myself. You, on the other hand, handle debate by doing the virtual equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting "NYAA! NYAA! NYAA! I can't hear you 'cause you're wrong and I'm right no matter what!!" like a 3 year old who didn't get his cookie.

So before you try talking more smack to others about what people do and don't know about, check out a mirror and introduce yourself: pot, meet kettle.

While you're at it "Downtoearth" (which for the record is a hilarious name for someone do dillusional) introduce yourself to an english textbook. Learn the language, learn sentence structure, and for god's sakes learn to SPELL!!!

Zorvan I couldn't have put it better if I tried. The thing is Darkfall has reached cult status, and Downtoearth and Aragon100 will be drinking the Koolaid by the time this is all over.

By the way Aragon100 they have in fact been developing the game since 2001. Just because they decided to start over in 2003 doesn't mean they weren't making "Darkfall" for that first 2 years. So go ahead and shut up about it already. From 01 to 03 they were most definitely still developing a game called Darkfall, I don't care who was making it, it was being made. So stop throwing that around as if other people are stupid for saying it. You are stupid for thinking otherwise. Here's an idea, have an opinion of your own. Start making educated judgements, and stop regurgitating the crap that Adventurine has been feeding you.

Now, on topic, the screens actually look miles ahead of the last batch I saw. Staged or not, at least things are looking a bit better....the dwarves especially.

If i were you i wouldnt be that fast to to jump on someones spellings. Ever heard of dyslexia? And to be honest why do you drop so low that you instead of discuss whats said, and i do believe you understood downtoearth perfectly well,  you jump on grammar and spellings?

If i were a moderator i would kick you out of these boards asap.

And youre wrong, you didnt even bother to read up on the info i served you. Darkfall game restarted mid 2003. So the development time is 5 years this summer, summer 2008, whether you like it or not=)

And guess what, i do believe what i can read up on the Devs info then listening to a guy like you that is having assumptions about this and that. I say it again, read up on the game info available and stop making a fool out of yourself.

And the critic on spelling was a really low statement from you. If i were you id be appologizing asap.

No, because the game they "restarted" was still friggin Darkfall so, like it or not, the game has been in development since 01.

Okay, I will apologize for getting on him for spelling. That is uncalled for, and I posted that out of being annoyed after trying to read through those responses, but all of that aside I have nothing against Darkfall either way. If it releases good for the fans, if not too bad for them, but it has actually been in development since 01. Restarting doesn't restart the clock...could you imagine a pro sports team "restarting" a play, and expecting the timer to restart?

    • Do you remember the days of EQ1 when . . .
    • I remember when gear was an afterthought, and grouping was meaningful. You would be in a group with the same people for hours on end, and had downtime to talk and actually build friendships.

I remember my first guild, Well of Souls, and how nice everyone was. It seemed there was ALWAYS someone willing to help out, and as a result I was always willing to help someone else.

I remember being younger and having time to play as opposed to working every day, and having to sleep and pay bills. =/

I remember the slower pace of the game, and how level cap was a dream (which I never reached BTW) and seemed soooo far off.

I also remember dinging 20 and having a GM give me my surname. I remember him denying 1 or 2 before I got mine too =P

I remember gobbies in HH, and getting a sword off of one that I actually used.

I remember getting a Black iron bastard sword, and scarab carapace breastplate  from my guild and it being like christmas.

So many good memories from EQ, and there are millions where that came from. I do have hope that one day a game will come out with a world similar to norrath, that can inspire so many emotions. Norrath could inspire Awe, fear, greed, happiness, and so much more. Adventures were REAL back then because they were unscripted, unknown, and you had the freedom to explore at will. I sincerely hope that one day a game will come out to match, or rival EQ but I don't see it happening for a while. MMO's are mainstream now which means that, at least for the time being until the fad passes, there will be a definitive style to all games that come out. It's the same thing with music, or movies. Remember when every stupid movie that came out was about some natural disaster that pwns the world?

Ah, the old newbie log in nek. I remember trying to grab firebeetle spawns before anyone else could hit them to get my beetle eye.

I also remember running around invis as my DE necro in freeport and sneaking up behind people and telling them I was a DE. BTW I played on a PvP server so these people would then search desperately for me to try and kill me =P

I remember my first trek to Kunark, and how awesome it was to dodge the spiders and swim down the river. A real sense of adventure there, unlike these modern games that lead you from place to place. I miss not knowing where the heck I should be, and wandering into a zone WAY too high for me.

Oh, and boy do I remember Lavastorm....

You don't sound very excited, or very much like a fan of anything.

Devs are as simple as players.  If you hug a dog who pooh on the floor, he will continues to pooh on the floor.  It must be clear, direct, a link.  This is why guilds often get their ways with devs...if 2 or 3 guilds hit the cancel buttons, devs listen.  Even if these guilds are a minority and don't represent the majority in anyway, the devs, the simplest one, understand what these guilds are saying.

I feel sorry, both for you, and for Vanguard.  Cause I am sure some peoples does like you...and devs never learn.  They never learn about what is good, and what is not.  What makes the mass plays, and what doesn't.

I was really going to cancel.  I had my cursor over the cancel subscription and  Iwas like...I can't believe you're going to do it.   Then  Iasked myself OK Kristi what game is going to take Vanguards place?  I ran through al lthe other games I have played like Lineage II, Guild Wars, Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies, EverQuest, EverQuest II, Shadowbane, Asheron's Call, Anarchy Online, Horizons, World of Borecraft, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Burning Sea, etc, etc, etc, and none of them can touch this game.   None offer what I feel this game offers.   Vanguard truly does have this epic like feel to it.  I know people hate it, and I know others do not feel as I do about it...but it really is how I feel despite my love hate relationship with the developers of the game and SOE in general.   God I swear if I could raise the  capitol to purchase the game from SOE and then hire developers to work on the game - OMG....I'd do it in a heart beat that is how much I love the game and how much potential I see in it.   ::shrugs::  Call me crazy...doesn't matter...I found my game - finally found the one game that I truly do love to play and you know what I am sticking with it.   I'll endure the Silius's and the Smedley's and the broken promises and everything else I have to because I really enjoy this game.

Here is a question...Why were you going to cancel in the first place?

It doesn't sound to me like you "finally found the game for you" seeing as you had already found it, played it, and were ready to cancel.

Maybe it's like one of those movies where a guy and girl meet, become best friends, and then right when the girl is getting married the guy realizes he loves the girl and then shows up at the wedding and ruins the potential grooms life by stealing the woman he loves.....yeah, maybe it s something like that =P

I think they should advertise whatever they want
It is OK so long as it is in the context of the game
This is just wrong, no ads in games...period.
