• • Can this game survive AoC, Warhammer, and Spellborn?

  • Yes Vanguard will survive.  It now has a core subscriber base that is not going to leave.  It may not gain too many new subs but it certainly is not going to decrease from it's current level.

    It will survive even if any of the new games are any good.  I doubt any new game will be any good if it does not come from Blizzard however.

  • The word on the street is that the combat is the least of the problems with AoC.  It seems to have some core problems with performance and basic gameplay.  This is just a rumor and I hope it is not true.  I will buy the game and play regardless but the word is not good.

    I just played the game again in January 2008 during the free come-back period.  I did not see much of a change from launch to justify playing this game.  Yes, the performance was a little better but the hitching, chunking, bugs, and falling through the world still exist.  There is not a huge improvement.  Slight improvement at best.

    If you enjoy it, great.  Somehow it has managed to survive.  I will give it that.

    35k was a guess a long time ago.  I would guess they have 5k - 10k now.
