    • Why this game is still an abysmal failure...

I'm sorry, but this complaint seems a bit ridiculous.  With DDO's active combat, player "skill" in blocking, dodging, tumbling, etc. is more important than in any other MMO I've played to date...and that includes AoC.  The only style of game that it doesn't surpass is a first person shooter.

While I will fully acknowledge the variance from the rules on this, and the issue some have with it...I just don't have a problem with it.  I think beholders ended up (as is) being exactly the right level of challenge that they should, which to me is ultimately what's important.

    • His complaint about beholders is pseudo valid, in that they should be using an anti-magic ray, I believe, instead of a zone.  Regardless, the zone makes a beholder encounter much more challenging (as a beholder should be), and a ray would be pretty easy to exploit the AI and make every beholder a breeze.

    • I quit WoW, came to DDO and love it
    • For me, it was really quite simple...

DDO: I loved the combat engine.  I loved how personalized my character was.  I loved the experience of instanced PVE questing.  I loved grouping for the first time in an MMO.

WoW:  I hated the combat engine.  I hated that my character felt cookie cutter.  I hated levelling through ratting.  I didn't find a group or want a group.

I haven't played another MMO to date that offered me what I found in DDO that I loved...so in my opinion, DDO is the best MMO on the market today.
