Hi.
PiStory's Closed Beta just ended a bit a go and it also had limited times that the servers were up during the CB. It is now down until July 21st while the fixed up the CB bugs and then they will be going into Open Beta.
Aeriagames forum is a very important spot at the moment to keep up with the beta proccess of the games. They also have Stone Age2 that just went into open beta. CB was very fun and its looking real good atm for the begining of OB.
I hope this helps. Pi is alot of fun and is nice to look at as well. Hope to meet you there. IGN is amithist :)
Even those who have left still come to read the AO forum. Most agree that the backbone of the game is strong. We will just have to face the fact that once AO gets in your blood there is no cure, no quiting. Even if your not playing your still involved and still checking up on it. That tells me this game Rocks and that we all have good taste. ![]()

It was one of the more difficult games for me to get the hang of. I think part of that is because it has concepts so different from other MMO's, such as the implants. But if you stick with it and do a bit of reading, it really is a pretty nice game.
Omg! The flashbacks! I havent played AO for well over 3 years now but I can still remember all the hard work getting the right implants so I could equip my new rifle + the hunt for buffs hehe ah those were the days. AO was a challenge to get a good grip on compared to WoW for example that any random 7 year old can can play without any real effort.
Remember running around in your med suit dual wielding pillows while hunting down a wrangle?
what do you mean when?? I am still running around with my pillows and having to stack my buffs to get my pets out lol. I have my med suit and i still have my arrow threw the head hat gag and my beenie hat with the little spinny wheel on top lol. my favorite memory is the day i had finally made enough to buy my Yalmaha. That was getting a Harley for your 16th bday present :)
I agree with playing till the servers go poof.
All i have to say is that from 2002 when i joined till now that every year sometimes a couple times a year i have heard that AO is dying, AO is dead etc. etc. I didnt believe it then I dont believe it now. Ppl are still playing D&D even though WoTC murdered it in cold blood shortly after they republished most of 2nd edition then took it to 3rd. As long as there is enough money being made to cover the basics with a bit of profit AO shall live the population will come and go like it always has but I doubt its death for a long time to come.
play it and it shall live ![]()
I started playing AO in April 2002. I was their for the first bday and i am here for their 7th. There have been many many changes throughout this time that compared to the game I first started playing its like playing a brand new game. And there is no complaint in that. I have enjoyed watching AO grow and change. When i first started playing there were the little "groups" as well only we were divided by the difference in dial up and cable/DSL. And Americans and the rest of the world.
The insults slung in OOC going in both directions was very intense at times. There was even an Org. that got banned because they were pimping the teen players for cybering. There were cliques in highschool. there are cliques in college and at work. No matter what is done to "even" out the playing field its just not going to happen. You can work your backside off to get as close as you can without anyone being cut off but life doesnt supply an even playing field and nether will a game. It doesnt matter whether your a froob or a sloob or an old lady like me. The point of games is to have fun and hopefully make friends and widen your experiences in life.
I am sorry that you are sad about not using the city buildings. But at least there is a place to go now. We use to have to party everyone up and go into someones house or there was this one abandoned building in Tir that you could get into and there was nothing in there. Or we would just meet in a backyard somewhere and try to hold meetings above the other ppl playing.
Guess I will shut up now, I tend to be a bit long winded. The point i wanted to make is that there will never be an even playing field and there will always be cliques no matter where you are or what you do in your life.
Do you Role Play?
