This happend with silkroad.  Man they bragged about banning like 40k bots, "see we ARE doing something...ect" If they really  did care they wouldnt have let 40k bots play for a year.

Seems every f2p game is left out to die (international versions, the koreans take care of their home markets) by the distribution company staff, always pleading that they are understaffed and dont have the resources, despite their company pulls in masive loads of cash a month.

i started playing back around dec.  i did see a lot of bots back then - in certain low lvl areas, but they seemed to have improved in cracking down on bots.

currently, i rarely encounter bots, but that's probably because i don't play on the lower lvl maps much anymore, and also i afk a lot, so i can't comment on the state of the bot problem in general (note: if u r low lvl, u can't be pk'ed - which is why RMT bots farm the lower lvl maps). the economy hasn't blown up or had the type of massive inflation in asian versions of ge, but i don't know if that means bots have little effect, or the player base is still too low, or a combination of both.

GW is instanced - except in towns, so of course you're not going to see the same amount of bots. and if u go into certain towns in GW, you'll see trains of monks farming over and over again.  also, GW isn't gear-based.  the stuff people farm the most in GW are just cosmetic / cool lookin skins - so gold isn't as big a deal when compared to SotNW.

and Neume is probably one of the most responsive CSRs i've ever seen on a forum.  actually, the SotNW AM's all are very active on the forums and have a pretty good sense of humor.  that's one of their strong points.

i do agree that in-game AMs are less present, tho the two times i pm'ed them, they answered immediately (you don't have to pay to talk to them ... just pm them - unless u don't know which AM is on.... then u gotta ask around to see if they know or scroll up your system chat to see which one is online.)

i also agree that K2 could improve their overall customer service, and their website is clunky to use - though it has improved from before, but i still think it's not n00b-friendly.  when i first started playing around dec/jan, i did not like their website at all. dunno if they are understaffed.

too much information lies scattered around, instead of being centralized in one place to check (example - i didn't know about the pre-2.4 costume fix or the switch of quarter slots from vis to gold because i dun check every forum category or forums on a regular basis  -_- ....

i've submitted several tickets for various issues, and i usually get a generic response acknowleging the ticket in 1-2 days, and a real response a few days after that. YMMV

for harder problems, sometimes there is a delay since its IMC's game and the devs are way over in Korea.

K2's methods for purchasing gold is too haphazard (and when i tried purchasing, sometimes buggy) - and if i don't feel secure, it makes me much more reluctant to start punching in my credit card numbers....  GW had a great interface where u could just purchase the items u want via the login screen.  really, it should be seamless.  purchasing gold should not visibly appear to go through 3rd parties, etc. (even if it really does).

overall, my experience with K2 has been okay, but they can still improve.  for a f2p game, it's pretty good, and i don't have to pay for content updates unlike GW. but if u want to be competitive and be ub3r - cash shop is the quickest way.

      blah blah blah blah blah

    • Is this game still lacking quests?
    • yeah, but most quests in mmog's are pretty average or lame.  the new quests are hi lvl except maybe some of the quests to get new characters.

getting to expert is supposed to take a lot of time.  what sux is that u don't get any boosts to your stats until you finally hit expert, so there aren't any little breadcrumbs that they throw your way to keep you motivated. T_T

via fluvial is probably the best spot for afk xping (after u outlvl skull dungeon and topolo) without using the cash shop.  it has a decent spawn rate and the mobs aren't too tough if u have the right gear.  depending on your setup, you can actually get more total xp (with 3 chars) than someone soloing in the cash shop areas.

i hate grind and i don't have that much time to play - so afk lvling is a godsend. i can keep up with more active players and plvl my lowbies.

the pioneer equipment also makes it easy to stay geared up, compared to before.

and at least they keep adding new content and areas on a regular basis (recent caebolan update) - though they seem to only be adding new hi lvl content - and to enjoy that you'll prolly need to hit expert QQ
