I love this game. I was in closed beta and all that. Back then I thought it was great and would be the next big thing. Then, I saw all the hype it was getting and it eventually lead to disappointment. Im in my third trial and Ive finally decided to buy it after talking to people who have been playing a long time.
This game has great potential, it just needs more support.

Monthly fees keep the majority of the immature prepubescent kiddies away. Keeping them is a good thing imo.
the best way to keep the kiddies away is by loading the game with mature content that mommy doesnt approve of and then slapping a, very small, monthly fee only payable by credit card. now that would keep our favorite 12 year olds away.
i think MMOs should follow Hellgate's model. the online is free with an optional monthly charge which is only $10. with the monthly charge you get constant content and quest updates and sometimes full on expansions. i dont mind paying for an MMO as long as i dont feel my money is wasted. which, so far, it feels that way. i dont plan on paying for Hellgate until i reach the level cap and can enjoy the extra content, also when i have time. when i played WoW i felt like i was wasting my money. i never saw any of the new crap they added, patches were only to tweak or nerf classes, and a $50 expansions was in no way worth it.
i think they should keep the subscription, just make it optional. i dont have time to be playing $10-$15 worth a month but id still like to enjoy the game.
Aside from questing, what do you spend most of your time doing in-game?
