Hi people,
These are my computer characteristics:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Memory: 2048MB RAM
Sound: Realtek HD Audio output
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 320 Mb
Well, with that I got not very good performance in Open beta with Medium graphic. Now, after the "miracle" patch and all, I am getting just 20-30 FPS, and drastic frame drop in crowded places or pvping. Anyone knows if I should change something or if the problem is not with my computer? Thanks for all
(no trolling please, i just want some hardware help)
Switch to lowest settings possible and then move the sliders up one by one. Learn how they have impact on fps and then tweak the game for YOUR system.
Two of the big canditades are shadows and view distance and specular sometimes.

But character development is a big issue for alot of people, and its #1 for me. I play to progress my character. And when I hit level 10, and saw the same exact thing as what I played years ago.. I was extremely turned off. And barely made it to level 11.
LOL. Those freaking healthbars are always red and the manabars always blue. It turnes me of and i dont want to play any game with red HP bars j/k. Silly, isnt it ?
C'Mon man. Its impossible till lots of people are max. level and do raids and sieges.

What do you think...
I basically do not believe AoC is a "MMO" in the sense of most MMO's today.
It requires more skill than most games today, it is heavily instanced, but allows more players in a field than GW does..
The city hub is similar to GW, but now has quests...
You get mission zones...like GW (you enter an area for specific tasks...) and can stay there as well...
You can get farther and play better in a group setting...than solo (ala GW)
Has an underlying story...like GW
So, I think they took all the MMO boredom out, and turned it into a really good "Coop Online RPG"
Thoughts?
Tortage is a starter and tutorial zone.
The landmass at release is around 185 sqm. Kalimor and eastern kingdoms (WoW) are approx. 105 sqm. Although landmass doesnt say all, because dungeons and caves might increase the real size a lot. Classic EQ2 has probably as much underground as landmass. LotRo's instanced epic book parts do not take away the real landmass of a mmo. Neither do the small gigglebigler instances for events in EQ2. So, what makes you think you will play in small mission instances forever ?
No home, no electricity, no broadband, no quadcore and no SLI.
